    What's Up With Paris?

I'm here for work quite a bit these days, and am always wondering why ther's no sketch group here, given the enormous wealth of talent.

You guys just draw so much you can't type?

Well I have the day off, so i'm gonna go to the louvre and draw some statues.

Hm. The Louvre was shut, so I had to sit outside and draw the Louvre itself. Then it started raining, so I had to go and drink beer. Luckily, I noticed the Louvre is symmetrical, so I could draw the other side while I was having my beer. Lucky I'm such a perspective genius hehe

Come on you lot, if I don't find something to do here I'm going to insist on referring to pomme frittes as freedom fries in a VERY LOUD VOICE.

    I think the french guys
    a) are not into speaking english (or so i'm told), and
    b) have their own forum(s), CaféSalé & some school specific. Yes, france has good art schools.

That makes sense actually, since graphic novels are so big here. Damn. Oh well, might just have to go hunt them down

Or....just go sit in some cafe and sketch. I met many friendly business owners that way. By the end of the week I was offered free food, drinks, room & board, and was connected to the local parties and clubs. Cafe owners love to have artists sit in their cafes. If you draw a crowd, you can get by pretty well in Paris. You can't get that kind of respect for artists over here in the US.

The highest compliment I got in Paris was from a museum curaitor in the Muse'Dorsee who asked me if I was from Disney! I guess the Mouse send over their artists to study and practice often.
