DSG 807: Fantasy Scene: DRAGON HATCHLINGS IN THE NEST

[Eeesh... Did I fall asleep before posting, again? ]
[Looks like. This hot hot weather is messing w/ my schedule]
    [Endless apologies to you all!]

So, okay... I'm trying out the pure fantasy topic again, since that topic a coupla days ago seems to have blown any other topic I've ever worked up right outta the water.
Let's see if those results are reproducible:

    You are right.

    Good Idea, machzero!

... I probably should include "D&D" in the titles.
Yes... that will doubtless triple the responses.

It's close to that already. There's three dragon topics on the topic page. Heheheh.

Sort the topics by responses and you'll see the trend.

environment... scifi... vehicles... are mostly no nos.

    And yet...

... somehow this one isn't getting any play.

Maybe the girl is the key.
Perhaps I should have made it: "FEMALE HOLDS DRAGON HATCHLING".

    Hm. Interesting.

    Welp...

Screw it, I'm gonna go back to mixing it up.

yeah i dunno really MR H, I guess it was the "woman" element that got the troops excited, although I must admit when i saw that thread I didnt really dig it, but thats cause i caant draw dragons hehe.

Shake it up man, give us some crazy topics that get us all motivated and experimental in your eye.

Keep up the good work man, and Post more yourself !!

The North Hatchetrock Black has some of the ugliest, crankiest hatchlings, yet they are some of the most impressionable, and grow into very sleek calculating adults, and are prised among dragon trainers.
painter, 30 min? had a long day and it crashed once already so yeah it might be somewhat unreadable
Does it really matter how many post?

Heres mine. I'm actually quite pleased with the cartoony feel I put on it. I had fun with it. Also I cheaped out and didn't draw any dragons, cause me and Eriboss are one in the same .

Hatching under the watchful eye of Mom. Maybe two hours between distractions of doing laundry and the phone. Painter IX.

This is as far as I could get before the end of the day snuck up on me.
    Carfax: great composition
    DigitalShade: great character

Grand designs dashed upon the rocks of a deadline...

yeah, i almost didn't made it.
    i was sketching away...

carfax's is great, i like the blue

Pete, cool! very nice composition, my eyes follow a circle, from the eyes of the mom dragon, following the shape of the cave, landing on the girl, then following the eggs and back to the mom dragon.

we should do this more often.
    also...
I never heard of photoshlop is that a new program??

Originally did this one on time, just took a while to scan in and get on the forums...

Anyway, pencil sketch colored in PS, 20-30 mins.

DSG 807: Fantasy Scene: DRAGON HATCHLINGS IN THE NEST

Cairfax: Very nice. Really liked the colored highlights on the mother's scales, but would've liked to see more reflected light on the eggs themselves.

DigitalShade: Nice cartoony feel. Very nice eggshell edge definition.

Notleftbehind: Nice dragon design, don't think I've seen lights on the tails quite like that before.

Antilight: Those some big hatchlings! XD Very chinese looking dragon design.
