I was wondering if anyone knew how to delete certain files from your computer.
When I (Right Click) on the (Temporary Internet Files) folder and click (Properties), the folder says I have 37,524 Files and 41 Folders in it. The problem is, I had already deleted everything from the folder. I even went to (Tools/Folder Option) and clicked on, (Show Hidden Files & Folders) and deleted everything in the Temporary Internet Folder, but it still tells me I have 37,524 Files & 41 folders in it. I even restarted the computer, opened the folder and saw it was completely empty, but when I right click on it, it still says I have thousands of files in it.
How do I delete those files in the Temporary Internet Folder when the folder shows up empty when I open it?
It's like physically seeing there is nothing in the trunk of your car, but when you close the hood, some wise ass tells you it's full.
Have you tried deleting it via the Delete Temporary Files button in Internet Explorer's Tools > Internet Options? Might also want to delete the Cookies too from the same menu, since they're stored in the same place. Check the Settings there too, for further options...
The way sinix explained should work. Got to Programs>Accesories>System Tool>Disk Cleanup. Then just follow the steps, make sure that temporary internet files is checked, and hit delete, or cleanup of whatever the button says.
