I'm liking how your painting these, but i'm not sure about the balance of the charectors, some of them look like the're about to fall over. If you are going to paint them it would be better to get the pose sorted first in thubnails or something. I think both loomis and bridgeman have good sections on finding the center of mass.
But i do like what your doing. continue!

Hazaeon: i actually just found the Loomis pdfs and I plan to print them up at work. Never heard of Bridgeman, thouh, i'll have to look him up. Poses are something that I've just recently started really working on. They've always been a strugle for me...at least coming up with simple, plain, standing ones. Thanks, though, for the comments. Highly appreciated.

Quick_Sketch: Tip of the hat to you sir.

    designboot: As always Designboot, thanks.

Hi, nice stuff, my only advice right now is to pick up an anatomy book or start observing the people around you and how other artists draw anatomy, cause your characters are really getting down because of the lack of anatomy knowledge here.. Otherwise beautiful work man , and keep it up!

Dile_ I hear ya. Actually, in college, figure drawing was just about my favorite class. And while the stuff I drew in those classes was realistic, I think i've always tended to a more stylized approach...that it is...up until recently. I really wish there were some cheap good figure classes in Boston. I'd take them in a heartbeat. Any good book recommendations?

    designboot Really? Thanks man. Hmmm.

    DARAF: Thanks dude.

    Hey Jason,

Sorry about our failed sketch group meetings, hopefully we can get something organized soon. Starting this weekend I have a little vacation so let me know when you'd be free, I'll bring a bunch of my anatomy books to study from My teacher is holding figure classes on Sundays but you'll need to find a way to get to Somerville. I think it's walking distance from the Lechmere green line stop.

Darkwolf: Yeah...we definitely need to get that sketch group going again. Things have been so hectic this winter.

Here's the final (well, most likely the final) version of the Tree King:
Added some moss, painted the face, redid his back leg and made it more stump like.

The character sketches are cool, and it's intresting to see the development of the characters. I have to agree with Gnoll concerning the enviros, I think they're a bit messy. But what the heck perfection through practice, eh? Keep posting!
