Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
We usually see 'em w/ glossy metal or plastic surfaces... sometimes pockmarked, or rusty, or otherwise weathered...
but rarely do we see them with any soft and cuddly quality (exceptions that spring to mind would be that cool teddybear in A.I. or that great dog robot in the original Battlestar Galactica.)
Sci-Fi: FURRY ROBOTS!
chicks dig robot fuzz

Robotic garden gnomes.... and no, you don't wanna pet this guy. Super quicky.
Ink + Sharpened stick + Lack of inspiration = ...

After making an initial sketch with my Laptops touchpad and realizing that this is not really the best way to paint something digitally I just did this back at home.
Withdrawn: hehe, yours is really great...
This topic reminded me of the robotic 'werewolves' from Stephen King's The Wolves of Calla, so I sketched how I thought they'd look.
Just a quickie.
Practice. Practice. Practice. Painting Kung Fu.
DSG is rad + awesome.
This is my first post and I figure that if I keep on keepin' on at this rate I will have posted 20.5 gazillion sketches by the time I'm 74. Whoa! Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I was going for the "Creepy wind-up doll amusement park mascot robot" look.
A webcomic of Apocalyptic proportions.
Well, here's mine. Entirely too cute - my manhood is ashamed.
"You're not going crazy, Arthur! You're going sane in a crazy world!" - The Tick
PS/wacom 25 min. went all cartoony like and just went with it. the position is a little wonky and might not make a lot of sense.
This took way too long...
Didn't turn out the way I wanted, but here it is... Enjoyed everyone's entry today, btw.
Eri: Creepy. Reminds me of the Beast in Brotherhood of the Wolf for some reason. Maybe it needs to be a bit more robot-like though.
Withdrawn: Hehe trip. Robots can be sexually ambiguous too. I like your color scheme. The lighting could be improved more I think.
Inkfish: Colors look great! Maybe more robotic implants will enhance it more.
Jabberwookie: His foot does seem ill-placed, but the design is very neat. You had me humming that song by Gorillaz from 99...
10 mins, photoshop.

Goodness, these are all pretty great. Once again, I'm impressed by the variety of ideas here. I'd name names and go into specifics, but there are too many and it is getting rather late- so please forgive me.

Once the AIBO becomes mainstream, third party vendors invade the market with IPOD like accessories, the latest.. custom furs ...

JWSamsara - Yeah, I'm about halfway through the Wolves of the Calla. Thanks a fucking lot.
Ok, here's a really quick sketch i did, it's no where near the quality posted here, but when I saw the title i instantly though of a little fluffball with a cord hanging out.
5 min work in sketchbook pro

Lukavi > A robot blinger - That made me chuckle out loud, very funny notion.
