    Cheeseboy's quest toward self improvement

Hey guys, long time lurker, felt that i should participate somehow. So before we start the lovely conceptart.org bonding experience id like to share a bit about myself and how id like to advance myself.

Im probably one of the most cynical people alive, im a slacker, and im easily intimidated.... Now i know what you guys are thinking, wtf is this guy doing here, the fruits of our labor is forged through lots and lots of practice! I mean i love to draw, and i hit this place for inspiration, but inspiration eventually turns to jealously, and jealously turns to self doubt blah blah..i digress.

Long story short, had a relevation at 2am, kicked myself in the nuts, and will try to stay faithful to this sketchbook. Ill post everything in my latest sketchbook, youll notice that some things have more time invested than others, but thats because EVERYTHING will be here. Heres hoping that ill back these words up.

    Cheers!

Not a lot of new stuff, but having a place to put stuff really helps me stay active. Seems that i just draw random things most of the time, i lack a bit of direction. I need to go to school...

On another odd note..i saw a pic of an animal called the mexican worm lizard.. geez! wtf is up with that. It sucks because i cant find a lot of ref pics on the internet, got that little critter stuck in my head.

    Cheers

Welcome! I can see your stay here will be a productive one. You have alot of style, and heart, more importantly.

And I agree, seeing so much talent on these boards can make somebody doubt themselves. You've inspired me to become more active in my own sketchbook thread, which has been lying dormant for a half-year.

Hope to see more from you!

Hey~ how about LOOMIS books? they are great way to start up drawing, especially if you are uncertain of directions. Definitely worth looking into, they are freely available on the net. sketches looking good, but as you said yourself you might need to planning on areas you want to improve and map out some basic planning.

Hey thanks! Just googled Loomis and found a bunch of cool stuff. Yea i think ima start off doing a bunch of hands and some faces. I tend to always leave the hands out till the end and that kinda bugs me. Yay, direction!
