I took a month break from art to think about things and if I really want to pursue art as a career. I enjoy art but I don't know if I could do it as a job and not just a hobbie. I'm considering acting and stand up comedy as a "profession". Here are two speedies.

MY pop photo digital charger challenge entry. I came up with this idea 2 days before the contest deadline so it was quite a rush to get it done in time.

Nice work chris! Love the lines! That last figure drawing has a harsh wood like feel to it1 Your lighting in the arcylics is stunning! Would love to see a full blown painting from you in arcylics with knowledge of light now... Keep on working hard...

haha... seth. I hate acyrlics. I just have no choice but to use them right now because of where I am staying. Once I get a place to keep my oils then I will really get things rolling. Yea that last figure drawing is horrible. Thats from about 7 or more months ago. It's amazing how much I''ve improved this year.

Really nice stuff! Keep it up. When you say you are studying, what does that involve? Are you going to school or planning to do so? What's your daily routine like etc?

Why do you get all the lunch in the world?

Matt: Thanks. It would be great to work with you someday.

pennington: Speed is something I just enjoy, but honestly it's not always the right way to go.
If you want control then don't rest your hand on the paper, or if you do just hover above the paper. Draw strokes with your whole arm and not just your wrist. Also do quick warm up strokes in the air with your hand to get it warmed up. draw big circles one way then rotate your arm the opposite direction. Think wax on....wax off from karate kid, but just with one arm. just practice strokes in all directions, straight and curved. Also getting your hand and eye in sync you won't even need to look at the paper very much.

Sim: I'm taking notes everyday on light and how it works. I'm not going to school right now but my Dream is to go to art center in pasadena california.
for the last 3 months I've practiced 14 or more hours a day. I have a lot of sketchbooks devoted to different subjects and I set goals and where I want to be every week. Then I just meet those goals and reward myself with some playstation 2 time or pc gaming. I have one sketchbook that is just a lot of random photos glued onto the pages and I call that my design study book because I am studying the structure of things.

When I go to star bucks and baha fresh I practice gestures, control of my arm, and quick portraits. Usely I am at star bucks for 6 hours a day doing sketches of people because I don't have a job at the moment. I get money from either commissions or small jobs I get by email.

Inspiration keeps me going. I need it or I will never get anywhere.

    Hey man!
Some super nice stuff you got going on here...
I really like the pencil linework you got, looks abit like you have some clothes design experience? My sister works with c-design and some of them drawings got them fast and accurate lines, great job...
The cg stuff is great to, some of them looks halffinished, but the ones that you have put some time in really rocks!

    Keep on working!

Gridur: I study clothing design a lot and I have tons of magazines and books on it that I try to learn from, But I have never done any professional clothing design work. I have one huge book on clothing design where drawings are right next to the photo and they look so awesome and accurate.

    Cyberotter: Thanks!

2 minute or less sketches using windows screensaver.

Here is a pencil drawing and a colored version done in painter and photoshop.

If I were to have painted it all in photoshop the values would of been better. Also I was trying out a different type of lighting when I drew it on paper so that led to a different look value wise.

Here is a colored pencil portrait of my friend Samantha. I could of done sooo much better if I had better lighting in this room.
