Bammer vs. Toaster POLL - Dream Eater

    (Toaster speaking)

    Alright.
Me and my buddy Bammer decided for the good of our skills we would battle to the death... each week. The first week's topic was decided by me, and it is DREAM EATER!

    Bammer's:
The unique difference between the Blinding Nester and any other creature is its ability to infiltrate the mental activity of its victim. When the unfortunate prey awakens after being visited by a Nester, it has a new and adepted system of accessing memories. The system is virtually identical to the previous one save for one major difference--for the rest of the creatures life, it will never be aware that any Blinding Nester exists. It will even be unaware that it has ever been visited by one. From this point on the Nester is invisible to its victim, giving it the perfect defense.
Bammer vs. Toaster POLL - Dream Eater

    Toaster's:
The creature, otherwise defenseless, creates a very intense sound (much of which outside the range of human percievement) that when received in the mind is stored in the memory like any other. When the affected goes to sleep, dreaming, or REM sleep, a system to compile the events of the day, activates this memory much like a self runnable executable file on a computer. The
sleeper whose brain has been hijacked by this "meme" begins a specific mutation with the task to broadcast a sound beacon out of the range of human hearing to attract the creature that began it. This brings a small swarm of the creatures interested in feeding on the helpless human.

    Absolutely.

This is CA. Did you expect me to get angry at the prospect of critique?
In fact I agree with you. I could have done a lot better.

I voted for Bammer's to. It's got a mystical look with the dark face and red eyes. Kinda scary.
And as said before it looks more organic.
Toaster, your painting got a very sketchy look, probobly meant to be like that. But this really gives bummer painting a cleaner look, and it's more satisfing to look at.

I voted for the screaming memes

The styles and ideas are very different. I like them both very much.
I see now most people prefer the cleaner, more polished look of the Blinding Nester. (I voted before there were any comments, in fact I am a noob here and didn't think you could reply to a poll)
I was leaning slightly towards the grungier style of Toaster's piece.

I enjoy the color sceme, it immediately grabbed me. More insteresting to me than the slightly boring/dull colors of Bammer's piece.

I'll admit that I was confused by Toaster's picture at first.

Now I think the idea for the meme's was clever. reading Toast's blurb was very entertaining and helped me to see the picture in a new light. what a retardedly eaborate way for something that is otherwise completely helpless to locate it's prey when it's vulnerable. I love it.

I suppose that overall, Bammer's picture is more professional an finished, but it just didn't seem as unique to me. the nester is very cool, and the well rendered fur made me think twice about voting for toast. It is a very quality image.

the woman victim and her mutated growths make Toasters picture incredibly interesting, and i like the the mischievious little creatures. i suppose that the background, though i agree with the depth it adds to the picture, is pretty sloppy. still looks pretty good at a glance.

I'm tired of typing now. I could go on about these two pieces for much longer though.

VERY NICE WORK, both of you.
...and congratulations Toaster, you win in my book.

(sorry all, for the noobishly long post)
