    chate, thanks!

josef, yeah I wanted to add some text and stuff but never quite got around to it.. egh..

kichi, yeah I've had mixed feed back on the lighting..some people don't like it some people do.. *shrug* haha. kewl.

    riiroi, thanks!

call0ps! thanks mate.. yeah going to get myself to draw more..I've been the biggest slacker egh.. how u doing mate?

paperx, woo.. hahaha.. rackham is teh awesome cheers.. woo some girls do puff their hair at the back tho! hahah but I hear u! yeah.. I suppose there are many flaws that gets overlooked after so many hours.. heh.

adam, Yeah..good point.. but I thought the contrast shapes actually worked better.. there's already enough circular shape happening where it draws the viewers in.. yeah the skulls bit jumpy, the girls mouth..hahah.. i didn't even notice it.. funny u mention tom.. we were going to do some stuff together but sadly we haven't talked much art for so long.. shame really.. fancy tricks? HAHAHAHA

    yongs, thanks!

    vorace, cheers

whit.. thanks mate! cheers, hope u are well

    the whistler, thanks!

camara, thanks.. well I changed resolution few times on that piece.. probably 1500 px high on sketch.. and then 2500? to clean up and block in? and I think it was 4000 ish? once I started rendering..normally I don't change resolution much but I kept forgetting.. ergh.. anyways.. usually around 3000~4000 px.. sketching is much smaller tho..

nim, thanks! errm no not really.. should it? who? hahaha... yeah chow is good fun. maybe see u at chow this week then?

courtyard, thanks.. maybe a little too bright! hahah

    slayer, thanks..

    jorge.

mc2, thanks.. I think her face could use more roundness.. yeah.. I just didn't want to render her so much out.. but maybe I should have.. the whole broken effect was with a simple dot brush with colour dynamics. easy! it's more like an impressionist brush..

man_made_god, thanks! yeah.. i have them here somewhere.. but just to sit through and go through them gives me a headache.. egh.. not to mention I've changed hosting since and I have to relink them all.. *sigh*

    iridyse,

DHtenshi, thanks for the much kind words.. I think values are very important.. I think u can get away with most things by just using values.. like b&w and then colour.. things like that... will do! cheers mate!

Good stuff Min! You're something else, replying to every single person. I like that a lot. You are insane with those figure studies. I so need to do a ton more. I make them to big when I do pencils, so I can only fit like 2 on a page. Gonna work on making things smaller to fit more like you.

Cheers and the enviro studies are great!

Awesome chow :d and great studies aswell, probably a question that you read a lot, how much time do you spend on those? If i were to try and do something like that i would probably waste 24 hours to do only half of them :s

Excellent sketches, my friend. I'll be interested to see how this Chow pans out if you decide to bring it to a finish. The other one you did (the one a gave such glowing reviews) is still residing on my desktop! lol

I'm doing pretty well. My leave of absence was due to my first full time job in the industry as a 2D artist for a small game dev. That slowed my posting until it was mostly non existent. This year I wanted to change that so lately I've been trying to kick things out more regularly and hopefully become more active again. I finally started a new sketchbook thread (signature) and then several days later our company gave out lay off notices to most of our team. So it looks like I'll be on here more often soon as I'll be unemployed! Heh. So... I'll see you around! Stop in my thread and tear me a new one. I need to grow leaps and bounds this year, man. I have a lot of catching up to do looking at the stuff in your thread! Take care, man and keep drawing!

love the new updates. The two recent illustrations are captivating, and I love how you can find beauty in every landscape you make. Love the brushwork, and also great figure studies. You haven't posted any charcoal figures in awhile - hint, hint.
