Like the skin tones on the witch and the muscle shapes - good contrast to the girl.

Really happy that you changed your inital baba yaga piece to this. It's really got that Book Illustration feel. hmmm, I'll just get back to staring at it some more heheh.

holy damn min! looks freaking awesome, kinda reminds me of arthur rackham...love the colours so goddamn much...keep posting man, it makes me happy
PS: i think her hair might be a bit too puffy at the back? kinda makes her cranium look a bit too long, just nitpicking heh...

hey buddy thought i would offer a thing or two on babayaga
1. I liked the concentric circle bark shapes on the initial sketch - the background feels a little rigid to me in the current version, might try reintroducing those shapes very subtly to echo the form of the back?
2. the skulls in the bottom are pulling my eye a little
3. the corner of the girls mouth seems to curve down a little dramatically - again pulling my eyes...
love the crazy colour vibrancy technique you are using. i suspect you and tom have been conspiring in private once more, keeping all the fancy tricks to yourselves SIGH!

Sorry for the but that is simply stunning. The hands are fabulous, and the whole picture is creepy and beautiful and does quite a bit of storytelling! Excellent!

Wow...this is just amazing. I love how you've made it look like they're lit by a flash bulb--I makes me think of the Brothers Grimm doing a snuff film!

Hmm...something about the girl's face seems off to me for some reason..maybe its slightly skewed?
It is a great piece nonetheless.
Care to share how you get the whole broken colour effect?
Seems like a nifty little trick haha!

dude, I really hope you win in this CHOW, your entry looks really great, the thing I most like about your works is the great use on values, I will always respect that from you.
Oh yeah, your color/enviro studies look great! the thing is I can't recommend you anything, just, as you said, when you made the enviro from your mind, you lost the light source, so, watch out for that next time, but I'm sure you already knew that
Min, you're an inspiration man, please keep updating, I'm always looking forward for your new work

Great work obviously, but I was just thinking if her hair would act like that, falling down her chest? And her arm looks kinda spiky at the end too... But that's nitpicking. Voting for ya!
I know it's all been done before, I want to do it again. I want to do it again.

those studies and reffed pics on the last page are just... awesome. Do you paint at all directly doing studies? I know those are digital but have you been doing them for practice at all? You've gained an awesome grasp on color , makin me wanna study like crazy now

I stopped by here on DanielC's reccomendation, and just... wow. I have spent all morning going through this SB, and I am so inspired. Your colors, your lighting, everything is just absolutely top notch. I hope you don't mind if I do some studies of this stuff.
Absolutely stunning work, man.
