Sure why not, I have no problem with that. The more the marrier, but let me ask punchy to see if he is cool with that.

You did a great job capturing her expression, she looks pissed. Well I don't know where silverslash went, he wanted to join in on the fight and I said it was fine and he was like ok. oh well. Looking forward to seeing your sketch finished, I am going to try to get a better scan. I was working with Col-erase blue pencil and it didn't scan very well. I had to fiddle with the brightness and contrast of the scanner to get some lines to come through.

Sure, posting in progress is fine with me. While you are at it, you can make a step my step if you are going to post progress. That would be cool. Right now I am doing a practice paint before I get into the illustration.

Here is my piece, I would still like to do more to it. I definitly want feedback from it. Got to shrink down the hand on her back. More work on the hair and clean things up a bit more. I made some changes from the initial sketch. Instead of a blond pig tail haired girl, we now got vampire sisters. I was going to add blood dripping down from her mouth down to her neck, I might do that later. I am happy with the direction its going in, just need to do all the extra little details. I need a more efficient way in working with painter. Oh ya, originally done in photoshop, decided to take it into painter, which I ended up doing the majority of the work. The girl with her back towards us was referenced and the girl facing us I drew from my head. I also referenced the outfits, going for a latex feel, which I think I captured pretty decently on the girl in purple. Not so much with the girl in the black dress though. So feedback is more than welcomed. Going to add bats in the background. Fun times.

    Punchy:
Do you always work monocromatic and glaze color on top? if so, do you find that it helps you to work faster? There is a nice sense of life coming from her eyes.

    Silverslash:
Check out DSIllustration's tutorial on oil painting, at the end it mentions how to get take a good photo of your work. I would like to see a larger file, its hard to make out. Her posture says it all, she don't look too happy. It looks nice.

Smitherines : Yeah, I generally work in gray scale and then do the color in glazes. Its not for speed or anything, I just suck at getting value correct AND color at the same time. The grey scale/color glaze does limit me. I saw Jason Manley give a talk about turning surfaces with color instead of value. A little scream went off in my head. *que darth vadar* "noooooooo" I have to practice more working in color and value at the same time. I use a digital airbrush on a "color" layer and later a Gel layer. A bit of the glow brush to bring some light back into the thing.

I used to oil paint by doing a grey scale and color glazes, now I am trying to nail it correctly on the first try. I still have to loosen up a bit though. I should be working more sketchy and then fine tuning instead of putting some paint down, fine tuning that area and then going on the next.
