Idiot Apathy- thanks. sorry i cant wait up. what kind of tutorial do you want to see? I have a step by step of a digital piece that i posted, the guy with the wings and a sword.

Listing-thanks, I go to an atelier, watts atelier to be exact. I also have my degree in illustration. As for your comment of becoming one of many, you might want to rethink that, being that the many go to college and the minority go to ateliers and what not to learn how to draw the figure. going to an atelier isnt about style, its about learning to see and draw properly. at watts anyways, all the teachers were taught by the same guy, but they all have a different style in their drawings.

a frazetta piece that i have been working on, probably about 14 hours so far, hopefully will be done soon. done in oil of course.

Man, I LOVE the Reilly/Fixler tradition! Great work going on here. Okay. Time for me to hit the quik-sketch exercises.
    Great Frazetta studies, too.

    hey man,
It's always a pleasure to stop by your book. I saw the words "i feel like i can't sketch" its nice to hear. I feel that way constantly, and Its great to hear a person you look up to have those feelings as well. I am not the best I won't claim to be but i think the hardest thing is when you feel your work stagnates but no one else seems to notice they still like it and you wonder "why?'" Let me just say I see constant improvement in your stuff. And you are working on the right kind of studies. I would like to see you practice more materials though. Metal, glass, etc. And that orc you drew from the wow book. If you want to see more of the artists stuff (carlo is his name) click on the bang bang teng tag link on my sig, he posted a bunch of carlos work in there including that orc. Its not all wow stuff a lot is personal work. keep drawing man!

vances22-thanks for stopping by. about the "i feel like I cant sketch" thing, I think any and every artist feels that way, no matter how good you are, there is always someone better, or you admire alot, and its alwasy like, damn how do they do that. My problem with sketching thse days is I just need to do more of it in my sketchbook.

    2 hour pose.

wow, your drawings are really awsome. the painting is looking really good but i feel like my eye is being pulled to the upper right corner. maybe put something in the lower left to help the eye flow through the painting more?

    Wow! I love it.
And don't worry on how long it took you to do it. It all matters in what you learned from it. I really enjoy seeing your studies and then like a Frazetta study in there out of nowhere. So cool!

You live in Laguna Beach now!? In Oct '07my friends and I will be moving to Encinitas for Studio 2nd Street. :] I don't know how close that is to Laguna, but maybe you could come over for an art feast or something. Keep the art flowing, cheers! :]

Hi. I love your SB. I have only seen a small portion of it though (10+ pages is just qhwoimceughakszudgaczscn, gzik). But its amazing.

But to the chase. I saw your picture in the CHOW. And I would like to commend you on posting a Hand Drawn picture! I have always wanted to do some of these weekly contests but, they all seem to be digitally made. After seeing your rendition of the Boogeyman, I have decided to join in on the next CHOW. I don't care what it is. I will be doing it.

You have been a great inspiration. I love pencils!!

    enthombed-Thanks!

SaiVix-Thanks. Using real media is always more fun than having to do digital, for me anyways. Glad I could be an inspiration.

Here is an update, I have been doing CHOW for the last few weeks. I will post some life drawings in a few weeks.
