    More randomness...

Think i need to work on my painting style sort of thing.... seems a little bland, no texture etc. Wanna get something with more edge, oh well.. i continue...

Based on the poem Ozzymandias - its kind of school. start of my new project experiment.

I read that poem just recently! I thought it was all metaphorical until our teacher explained it =\

Do you ever do any traditional stuff?

Or any figures for that matter. I'd like to see you draw your hand a bit

your last piece of work, the contrast needs to be made much more aggressive, with darker tones right where the light stops
    {original work from PHatAndy}

also you forgot the shadow on the floor infront if the sun is shining from behind

Hey guys thanks alot for all the help and stuff.

Pixel man, i dont do enough traditional - im trying to get back into drawing in my sketchbook and doing some life drawings etc, some anatomy studies from my bridgman book. Main reason though is that the last 3 weeks ive missed my life drawing class ive had to go on trips and stuff and i was ill one time ... sucks alot.
Also i been messing around alot with digital, im getting fed up with how they look, they look really plain and stuff, i wanna get more realistic painting styles, texture and shit... its really difficult.
Got my school art though which i have been doing, in between projects and big paintings so thats why not much here (not enough every but i try ..). Starting a new project now though, gonna be on book illustration so im looking forward to it, hence this one about the Ozzymandias poem. My exams are soon aswell so gotta start revision.... argh!

Hey cold thanks man, gonna do some more painting on it now, im really not happy with how it looks, looks plain and the painting on the statues sucks.

Sry for all the excuses, im in a point where im trying to draw alot more, but i end up doing other stuff (like playing ES IV: Oblivion)

Ill post more soon, and i got life drawing on monday so ill post em for u pixel.

    Andy.

    Looking smoother, keep pushing it!
Personally I would have prefered a more interesting composition with more depth, right now theres not much depth play with the foreground midground an background.

First time I've looked through your thread, the progression you have going on here looks great. I really dig the composition and linework you have going for this last piece, it seems like environments are your strong point. Keep pushing, your penwork is looking great, maybe try a little figure drawing to round yourself out and beef up that skill.

Second one is definitely stronger, warmer tones give more life to the pic and good contrast to the grass!

Yeh i draw it from life so I was right sort of down at the bottom , quite close to it.. so judging perspective was damn hard. To be more accurate i would have to done really steep perspective and bent it etc to give that really tall look, it was really tough.
I draw it all without rulers etc straiht in my sketchbook so was it was real tough perspective wise.

Nice mood there, maybe some warms/lights from inside the house, there is a fireplace or something after all. Could add to the mood to have like only one window lit, add to a story behind it all.

    Hey Andy,
Your thread shows constant improvement...... I dig your line studies.....nice to see some envo's here. IMO I tend to tighten up when i've spent time on good line quality........try sketching in black and white when you know you're going to paint it like TYRANX SHOWS HERE skip down through all his badass stuff :] and go to the March
31st post. Also check out HYDROPIX....he's up @ Ubisoft. Don't be afriad to start a piece abstractly and see the form within that.....try it with creatures since they are an "anything goes" genre.

keep up the good work and thanks for the ass patting
