    Ink Overwhelming

Okay, after letting my old sketchbook slowly sink to the bottom of the sea (link in my sig), im starting a new one for the summer.
    Selfportrait:

    And some randomness:

The random headshot is pretty awesome. I like the combination of clean cut blocks and sketchiness. His nose bothers me for some reason. It's probably face paint or something but it makes me think he has a cold

I know your still a young'n but have you done any studies yet?
Anatomy is extremely useful, even if you do it from something like dragon ball z like I had to when I was 14. O_o (even though its blown out of proportion, all the muscles are still there! )
Anyways, great work for your age and for only picking it up for about 3 years (your other sketchbook said you were 13 and youve been drawing for 14 months?)

Ah, the jaw on that skull thang really turned out nice, greast job on that. On this head, the top seems both too short and too flat.

this is really great man, youve improved loads. Your style is really goo0d and your portraits are very good. Next anatomy, gotta do some studies man, all over body shots etc. by your lack of them at all, im guessing thats your next area to work on.

Keep it up though, you making excellent progress

Little kids aren't supposed to keep improving so much. It looks like the mouth is trying to fight the perspective on the last one, watch out for that.

Very nice light. keep up with these portraits you'll be great at faces. One thing you should notice though, your faces seem to look the same. Try looking at some wide variety of faces to get you started. And I can see you've started to put values in the face more, try to make the values soft with not that many hard edges. Like when your trying to show where the shadow of a face is, when you set it out try to make it a fine gradient from the shadow to the midpoint or the highlight. Will really make em look young.

Keep it up dude, you're one of my favorite sketchbooks here.

the face is great on this one. the ear you cheaped out on. the breast seems too high and the shading on the hair is flat. the image is almost there...just needs a little more ref ...and don't get scared of the edge of your paper dude. also her right eye is a little high...rough in guides for features

    keep it up
