Okay, after letting my old sketchbook slowly sink to the bottom of the sea (link in my sig), im starting a new one for the summer.
And some randomness:

The random headshot is pretty awesome. I like the combination of clean cut blocks and sketchiness. His nose bothers me for some reason. It's probably face paint or something but it makes me think he has a cold
Thanks SFR, it is a red nose. Feel free to come up with a reason why its red .
Thanks Frank, I will.
Here is a little something something for today . 3 hours. I had ref for top of skull, but the bottom jaw was from memory so its prolly a little off.
Sweet, light. For a nine-year-old...
Really, very cool.
You're only 14 years old and you already rock! Don't loose your dedication!
I know your still a young'n but have you done any studies yet?
Anatomy is extremely useful, even if you do it from something like dragon ball z like I had to when I was 14. O_o (even though its blown out of proportion, all the muscles are still there! )
Anyways, great work for your age and for only picking it up for about 3 years (your other sketchbook said you were 13 and youve been drawing for 14 months?)
Zap- Haha, thanks alot!
Faust-Thank you man, I doubt ill ever stop working on art lol.
Chaotic-Yeah, ive been doing studies quite a bit. I did some really basic stuff for anatomy and animals but right now ive been working alot on the human head trying to get it down right. Im gonna be drawing for 2 years in about a month or so.
Thanks alot everybody for stopping by . Ill make one more update today to make it at least a bit daily.
A quick one, no ref. The thing in top right had to do with irc... Dont ask questions you dont want to know.
Ah, the jaw on that skull thang really turned out nice, greast job on that. On this head, the top seems both too short and too flat.
SJ- Thanks alot for the positive comment, and for the crit.
Here is a portrait I just finished. 1 hour with ref.
No ref, worked on it for like 2 hours.
Holy crap kirtar!
These are awesome! I like the rendering, something about it makes me just stare at it.
The Jaw on your skull, is flipping awesome! no ref?! Youre a madman! Its wicked!
Keep it up!
Dished- Thanks a ton, im happy that my rendering... doesnt suck lol.
Oc with ion, nova and psylo. I was bottom right.
Great to see your stuff! I like your style. =)
this is really great man, youve improved loads. Your style is really goo0d and your portraits are very good. Next anatomy, gotta do some studies man, all over body shots etc. by your lack of them at all, im guessing thats your next area to work on.
Keep it up though, you making excellent progress
Rock on! This is great.
I'm likin that robot thing in there. Not much to say at this point, really.
Wow not used to this many replies lol.
Flaskpost- Thanks alot, didnt know I had a style lol.
Phatandy-Damn man, good guess. I am infact going to be doing bodies soon. Kind of afraid to make the move, just like when I first started porraits .
Faust-Rock on I shall, thanks alot man.
Rebecca-Thanks for the encouragment.
SJ-Thanks for stopping by man.
Here is this thing, polished too far . Also, threw in a little 15 min portrait.
Sinix, thanks alot man, I had so much trouble with the mouth, had to do it like 5 times. GRrR its always something else with that damn face.
Light, you have created the world's first Wolverinecow.
I love the robots! The girl needs a bit more anatomy study, (guys have trouble with girls, I know
Great stuff, man
Sj its patented.
Zap im trying my ass on. Thanks for stopping bhye.
Lots better. Darken the far eye some...she looks walleyed.
Thanks zap, ill watch for walleyeness next time .
Some more portraitness.
Very nice light. keep up with these portraits you'll be great at faces. One thing you should notice though, your faces seem to look the same. Try looking at some wide variety of faces to get you started. And I can see you've started to put values in the face more, try to make the values soft with not that many hard edges. Like when your trying to show where the shadow of a face is, when you set it out try to make it a fine gradient from the shadow to the midpoint or the highlight. Will really make em look young.
Keep it up dude, you're one of my favorite sketchbooks here.

Sketchbook Thread. Look at it, rate it, post and crit on it.

hi, love your work especially the one that spreads over two pages. That looks awsome, you are very talented/skilled. Hope you keep drawing and all the best.
