    White C:: Thanks your comments are apprecitated

    Dile:: Thanks Dile just trying to stay somewhat consistent thats all.

    Nii:: Yes Nii i got back yesterday evening pretty late, and i cannot wait to see some of your current stuff keep working hard!! Thanks for your encouragement.

    This is what i was doing while on my trip to Virginia, mostly doodles i didn't want to commit to anything mainly because i was visiting my family and didnt want to seem like some strange recluse. But anyhow this is what i did.

    These are all small thumbnails i drew them all pretty small they are pretty much quick perspective exercises. my next goal is to take one of these or one like them and do a quick paint sketch in photoshop. I'll try to get one done by this weekend.

    These are all quick gestures i was reading how to draw the marvel way and applied some of thier principles.

    Awesome ashrumm! You have gotten really good while I've been gone. One thing though to keep in mind is proportions of your figure. I'm not sure if you were going for a "exaggerated" look, but if you were going for a more realistic look, then the hands are a bit too big. They are bigger than his pectoral muscles. I'd scale the hands down quite a bit and also his forearm as well. Also keep in mind the feet too. They are almost bigger than his head.

    Your perspective exercises are just fantastic, Really good job!
    keep it up bud!

    hey dude
    thansk for posting in my sketchbook
    great improvement, however most images have a niggly flaw in each, learn to asses it and fix it.
    One way to find it is to flip it over or take a break and come back and see it in new eyes.
    In the last one its his belly, it protudes too much.
    but keep it up, it all looks really good

    great enviros, ash! really enjoy looking at that page with the additional character design on the lower left. whole page is simply eye-candy. the marker sketches could use slightly darker values in the foreground, imo, but you're definetely on the right track. looking forward to see more! cheers,

    stine

    You are deffinatly coming along man. I see a lot of progress as the pages go, and that makes me happy. I think though you need to get a little more fine tuned with your anatomy. The background compositions were looking good man. Keep it up!

    hey there! cool update, great to hear that you're taking some classes and are busy over all. really like the third page, catches the movements very well with some exaggeration. quite dynamic and difficult perspective, so congrats on nailing that. great to see an older sketch and a new one "face-to-face", cause i think your progress shows: you don't need as much shading as you did before to transport the forms and your linework has improved a lot. love that last design, very nice details there! keep it up! cheers,

    stine

I'll try do a basic word balloon tute if you don't already know how to do them in photo shop just let me know. Good work all round keep going at it, laters.

    Here is another Sargent Master Study titled errazuriz. I'm pretty pleased with this one I got to play with a new brush I hadn't played with before it took me 2 hours, so i'm getting faster.

    Darktwin:: Thanks Bro

    Skeiff:: Thanks for your support it is greatly appreciated

    Nii:: Thanks man i spent alot of time on the rendering still not good enough though.

    Stine:: Thanks Stine i'm glad you liked the Sargent Study, it being that you are great at portraits!!

    Saikin:: More thumbnails coming up!!

    Asoir:: Thanks man just trying to improve like everyone else.

    These next works are mostly quick sketches from a workshop i attended yesterday, most of them are 1 minute poses, you'd be suprised at how much you can learn in 1 minute.

    That Errazuriz master study turned out beautifully! I love the diluge of action movements, but I don't feel like I see it used much in your more fleshed out ideas. Most of your fully rendered characters that I've seen are much stiffer than your action sketches, where you show a great sense of body tension and weight. Keep it up!

    Sup man, glad to see you posted these. The gestures are coming along nicely, and the portrait of your g/f is looking pretty good proportionally, but the values need a little work, think about the basics of highlight, light, form shadow, core shadow reflected light, and think about simple shapes, spheres, cubes, and how they react to light. Then emphasize those things when you draw your heads. It's essentially sculpting on paper so think about describing the forms a little more. Oh, and I like the stuff out of your head. I gotta check out your real sketchbook next time. Keep it up.

    Hi ashrumm! Your gestures are good. On the last painting I think the nose is a bit short. Your master study is good but I really don't like the colors. Are the colors of the original painting alike?
