Hey, Really like the latest characters. Lookin pretty good. Look forward to seeing some more mecha out of you. Haven't seen any for a bit. Well, take it easy.
Wow you love warhammer. Cool concepts. I like your robot stuff I love robots.
your stuff is awesome.
Dear Lord, good sir!! I just swam through this thread and what can I say?
You have a sadistic amount of detail and that's something I always admire and cherish myself. Very complex looking mechas and what not soldiers. THe colored and inked works are freaking adoring, very very good stuff indeed.
Seeing how much detail you spend on every unit, why not to make a massive work, such as a battlefield or the like? I am sure it would be something spectacular to gaze upon!! Think upon that .
Keep them disfigured creatures, massive mechas and majestic warriors coming, for I am keeping my eye fixed upon ye, oh yes!
your coloring is improving nicely... your drawings are looking swell too, I'm digging all the detail you're putting in.
A cool practise to help improve both your eye accuracy and your anatomy is to draw the base pose of your characters from a photo reference. Then you do all the details, clothing, a different face, around what you've drawn of the photo. If helps you see where you're falling short and where you need practise, and gradually you'll start posing your people in a more natural way too.
Masayasu: thanks....the giant robots have been lacking as of late....the best "excuse" would be that been to much involved in improving my anatomy...
robomaniac: heh heh.....thanks man ^^
dave from wyoming: Yep...totally addicted to the feel and concepts that makes up WH40k
Malavon Despana: when I think massive...its on a sheet/board of paper that is too large for my scanner....thanks for the idea though
blankslatejoe: Thanks Joe...and thanks for the tip ^^
up on the slab today is the cg'ed gendou lineart and a bit of conceptual work for somebodies game....
the warmup for the concept sketches....to get in the feel
and the following interface sketches...kinda raw though
I love your stuff man! Have you ever thought about having your mecha designs turned into a model? You could probably come up with a bad ass Space Marine Dreadnaught. Just wondering, keep up the good work, Ill be watching.
that thought has crossed my mind....but then its dashed to the side for some odd reason.Originally Posted by RanGob
as for Dreadnaughts...again the thought has crossed my mind
oookay on the slab today is a Gigerific sketch I decided to do on a whim
its in progress...
Looks really good, cant wait too see the finished project. And a request if I may, throw some dreadnaught designs on paper and post them, Id love to see your adaptation of the different chapters and their dreadnaughts. Keep it up, your stuff is kick ass!!
This is soooo good, my eyes cant take it! IM UNWORTHY...
what program do you use to colour your characters? is it Photoshop???
You have extraordinary pen work. You also do extremely well with those robots od yours. I think your weakest areas are your naked anatomy and some of your coloring work. When you are drawing people without their shirts, you tend to divide up the muscle with a hard line; maybe because you are used to drawing machines (where that would be normal), but bodies don't do that. Most of the seperation in muscle is better shown with rendering and not with line. Which brings us to color.
I think you should try using more variation and depth in your color choices. Even in some of your non-color works, there is very little rendering. I think you might try doing some of that, which might alos strengthen your understanding of light. Might do more faces too (unmasked) to get that down.
Very nice work though, wish I could do some of those robots, I hate drawing those things. They always end up looking like giant can openers.
Nice details in your work. Proportions seem to be off in some areas, but your attention to detail makes up for it. Very cool stuff.
By the way... is your screen name related to Berserk the anime? I love that series... Rock on
Britt: nods...yep...and yeah....its after the character Guts....who is a cool badass.....though I prefer the comic over the anime...more bloodnguts...
and up on the slab is some stuff... a mech...and other stuff...
a psuedo ref sheet for my gaia40k armor
Great Updates, I love that Mech, looks really good. And Again your weapons are killer! Keep it up, Ill be watching.
a few sketchums and a lineart...
the lineart first though...since its of better quality...
few errors here and there but I like it nonetheless
and a few cartoonish sketchums that portain to the Gaiaonline board....30mins tops on each of them were basically done on a whim...somethin about their avatar system..can make for intrerestin draws...
been down as of late...the pressure of completing a ten piece entrance portfolio despite being constantly distracted by "more interesting" ideas and concepts....is wearin down at my sense of well being...
well still lifes and landscapes might be easy to develop...but figure drawings...how would I go about it...works on the nude figure or life drawing...or ....I am having a problem deciding what kind of work I am too include under the figure drawing category
anywhoo.....enough of me ranting about shit...
now for the laughably interestin yet not as interestin update
oddly armoured Gladiator
part of my entrance portfolio....needs a GREAT deal of refinement...
You are damn good. Keep up the good work!
You do know a bread bin can't talk right...?
