really amazing studies Darktwin!
Spend even more time at these studies Darron.. watch the brush strokes and try to stay critical and concentrated with your observations.
i think this has the best brush economy. Simplified yet so informative.. the forehead looks a little flat with that hard edge.. but maybe that's just me..
good planes !
i also enjoy the edges most in that one =) ( the sharpest edge is the hairline though hehe )
keep it up man.. you've always kicked ass with your portraits mate
LOvely work man!!
towy: Thank you towy, I will have more to come.
Dile_: Thanks D man, yeah I really should spend longer on the studies, but I feel like with each one I reached a point where I felt I wasn't changing much to make the studies stronger, so I called them done. Thanks for the crits and feedback. I'll be falling your sb, thats for sure.
MacTire: Thanks Mac
D@niel: Thank you, really digging your work, love your palette and brush execution. Your work is definitely an inspiration.
Thanks for everyone who has viewed my little book. Digital painting, but recently spent a bit of time working with the pencil. Reinforcing my understanding of freatures of the face and structure of the head. trying to cement head structure in my brain. Some good heads many wonky heads.
More stuff coming soon.
lovely studies, and nice hard work man.
within your paintings, i think you could stand to work on materials...some of the pictures (like the gunner and the bazooka guy) look like everything is the same material. the leather bag looks like the same material as the bazooka, as the jacket, as the pants. this is partially due to your transition in values for each of the materials, so do some studies, see how they work, and make adjustments for how the different materials transition form and value. you're really improving man, so keep it up. expecting great things.
*thud* that's the sound of my jaw hitting the floor... holy cow! the improvement from page one is astounding. love your latest studies. now i'll make the great trek though your whole book.
purb36: Thanks for and advice, really appreciate it.
papervampire: Thanks bro, making the journey like everyone else, I just know I'm going to continue no matter what. Just enjoying the struggles of the journey.
DanielC: Thanks man, Congrats again on getting on with Bungie. I hope all is well.
Lyno: Thank you very much
AikidoAl: Thanks, and I see you've posted recently, yeah it was very nice meeting you at Reverie also. It seems like it was yesterday.
Well everyone its been awhile since I've posted, finished school and now back to digital painting and drawing and looking for work also. I'm really happy I can now focus on my personal projects for the time being. But I really need to be finding a job soon. Also check out my website, still updating but its coming along. Man, time is moving pretty fast.
First I would like to start with my some Moleskin Illustrations I've done and a new digi study and a illustration. Thanks for viewing, sorry for the long delay. I have been working a lot, just need to be more active in posting.
