Cow the Buffafloat, c.o.w. entry: cloud dweller

The cow topic this week was cloud dweller. Here's my take on the concept.

    The Buffafloat
A descendant of the long-extinct bison that feeds upon the lilipad-like hydrop plant. The buffafloat, bobbing along since birth, has adapted to store the hydrogen from the hydrop plants in gas bladders under it's hide. Although it can use it's modified split-hoof fins to do some minor navigation, the buffafloat is a gentle creature, and it drifts along with the hydrop pastures. It's adapted a beard particuarly suited to the entanglement of hydrops. It feeds off the trapped plants in it's beard throughout the day.

    Thanks for looking!

I think I might have a repeating pattern of screwing myself over by having the concept not step up and take center stage. I have to pound it into my brain.

So, Arctis, and anyone else, does this comp flatter the cow entry a bit more?

    Many thanks,
    Craig

This is just a fun idea
I love how youve thought it through and everything
Sort of a whimsical idea...floating buffalo

I think if something like that was actualy evolved then it would have a better way to turn and controle itself. Id like to see some stronger fins or some sort on him.

Would he have a way to land?
Do they travle in herds as buffalo do?

could also be cool. Insted of his toung reaching dowin into his hair
if his hair sort of evolved to be somewhat of a filter as well...or like roots on a tree. Where on capture of the hydrop plants they break it apart and absorbs what is need and feed it into the skin.

    just thoughts of my own
    Keep up these neat ideas.
