Some Life Drawings from a friend of mine!!

    hey all...

I just got back from NYC this past weekend. I was fortunate to spend some time with an old friend who is studying there at the waterstreet atelier.

I was able to see a large batch of his studies that he has done this past year. Here are a few images of his. He has piles of these. The quality is consistent..and while he claims to have a long long way to go, I found them to be beautiful.

    Wow!

I'm going to ask the really cliche'd question: "Are these all pencil?"

    Awesome work! :chug:

    Nice, Dobsky!!

Very tight. Very polished. Reminds me of Seurat's academic drawings...

    Very inspiring.

Are there special techniques they use to get taht type of shading? It looks so photo-realistic, Ive never been able to get my shading to that point by using just a pencil..

its a pencil...no smudging...all done on the point. slowly and patiently filling in the proper values.

    accuracy is key...

These are absolutely amazing. I love the control he has on these, it's something I've been trying to practice, it's exceedingly difficult though.

Jason, just a quick question, do you know how they structure the program at Water Street and how much it costs?
