I think this is the only Josh piece I've seen without tons of linework. Even without all the decorative stuff he always uses to spice up his work, I think it's funny how the distinct Josh touch finds its way into the piece regardless. I'd say the characters don't have the realism Marko has, but I still think they all feel like distinct characters. It's really a Josh-style bar (without Josh lines), just like Marko's is kind of a Marko-style bar. My favorite part is the middle-right area, probably because of the sense of atmosphere there.

    Cool stuff!

i think marko should win because of the composition and the character in every figure in the bar. really though i couldnt really care less who wins based of what jtj said in the previous threads. i just cant get worked up as much as other people about him dissing other peoples work, its just his opinion. were big enough boys to make up our own minds.

its good in a way that the entire spat ended up with a couple of kick ass pieces of art, and thats all i really care about. my vote would go to marko djurdjevic. jtj's seems more like a collection of characterrs in a bar where as markos seems more like a freeze frame of a moment in time. markos has more of the atmosphere you have in bars when its really busy and you cant move because of people trying to force there way to the bar.

i dont think there should be any hard feelings though, after all this is just a website, and jtj was just making a point he thought needed to be heard.

Read this with a unjudgemental and neutral view...

i think none of them should win, both artist didn't travel outside of their comfortzones enough.... joshuas piece is good, i can see that he tried to stretch his borders and hopefully ended up broadening his style.

Markos is good too, no questions asked, but i cant help myself thinking that he just drew something (planned or unplanned), making his piece looking like the rest of his stuff, just without the post-apocalyptic armor...thus the reason both artists didnt go outside their borders...

...(i dont remember the rules so dont read this part with a greater meaning)
i cant really remember the challenge but didnt it say that the artists should capture a view of a bar or something? Markos entry is too stylized in that case according to me, as he said himself (roughly interpreted) "a magazine look"...and joshuas isn't real enough

Both artists are getting a ton of love from me BUT none are worth a trophy IMHO, both could of fought alittle more...plus all the unnecessary drama surrounding theese two guys was a waste of time...

I've been sitting here reading all the post and convincing myself not to post, but alas, here i am...

should i edit and remove my text? probably...

..Great dedication though guys, i love it that you two took time and drew/painted your pieces! much love!!

    im voting for a draw...

    cheers

I'm with hurricane on this one.. during this whole thread, I was so anxious to see what JTJ was going to put on the table and, dude I went a few rounds for you in hopes that you would deliver so extraordinary work but, you really didnt... Like Marko said.. all of the character look alike.. there are no real distinguishing features about them.. no one looks older or fatter, taller or shorter... this whole battle was about comfort zone.... and even though they are terrific pieces of art work neither one of them says... "oh shit, it didn't even look like theri type of work"! If this wasnt about comfort zones they both would be grade A worx... but, then again both you guys could draw better then me with your opposite hands so what do i know?

Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd

remember we've only seen half the work. the bar piece was supposed to take Josh out of his comfort zone and the one we haven't seen yet was to take Marko out of his.

Not to be mean but Josh's characters look like they just had a giant dog slurp their heads or they got swirlies. Hair all short and swooping in various directions. I still like it though. Good luck surviving the dentistry JtJ. That stuff does make it really hard to concentrate and do your best so it's cool that you got both your pieces in. I really like the second one. I like it more than the first one.

    another 2 cents.

i think if the aim was to go outside their comfort zones marko should have done a full colour digital piece, and joshua the james hould have done a pencil rendered piece.
