Sweet update dude. The old man is very cool and i really dig the guy with his back turned - great use of form. The sketch for a painting rocks!

ahah nice update man, your pencil work is really great.

What i was trying to say is about your faces. Is in some cases (possibly the non ref ones??) you tend to squish the faces a bit.

ie. the distance between the bottom of the lips and the eyebrows comes squashed on the whole size of the head. so it looks like they have a big forhead..

I think its most obvious in you last update- on the picture of the side on view of the girls head -0 with the eyes closed. Here face looks a little squashed. Maybe make them a little longer - compared tofeature sizes and width etc.

Good work though, theres really great stuff here.

    Hi,

Fellah : Thanks again man. it's always joy looking trough your pages

PhatAndy : I understand what your saying but i'm having difficulty seeing what you see. In most of the drawings the foreheads look fine to me the squashing of the faces is clearer to me now. i'll work on that , thanks mate

Here's the finished version of the drawing i posted earlier.
    Hope you like :

    extremely nice!!
I don't have to say, it's about time (especially since I haven't updated mine in almost as long....I'm gonna get on it, I swear!)

I love your style... my only crit is on this last finished face. I think it might be there's not enough contrast in the face... but something is throwing me off. Also, his teeth seem completely blown out. Otherwise.... gorgeous updates!

    Hey all,

glikster : Thanks man, i know about the teeth.

Jens : Thanks dude, the body is indeed a bit sloppy, compared to the hand and head, thanks for pointing that out. I don't go to school anymore. Used to study animation in Brussels. Working as a waiter now.

Very quick self portrait, sucks but its just a sketchbook , right? :

    your eyes are humongous

    seriously though, awsome sketchbook.

Only crit is that in some of these your proportions are off a bit... but eh. That's me struggling to find something to crit so this post doesn't feel like a total waste of bandwidth

    Hi Art Addict,

your pencils are cool. I especially like the girl in side view. You really captured the shadows as they should be.

    Go on man!

    cheers!

oOooOoh... there's some lovely sketches here!

I really like the way you handle shadow on the face. The first self portrait is very nice.

I always find observational drawing in public daunting, but you seem confident and comfortable drawing people in public places... nice stuff.

It makes me want to go for a wander with my sketchbook!

sure, some mistakes in the first ones, but very natural, this is very good. The humans I draw look like plastic figures.

    Hey Tom:

I like the looseness of the last group, the Eastwood piece is fun, and your portraits are very nice. Would love to see all those strokes you do translate into digital.

    Hi peeps!

    Fayt : Thanks man, yeah , i'm improving !

That fat kid : Thanks man, that means a lot

waronmars : I see what you mean and your right in that pic, but.... the way you 'corrected' the ear is even more off i think. Notice that the head is tilted, therefore the ear always moves up a little. You have put the ear Waaaaaay too low. But thanks for the advice man. I'll keep it in mind

    Bojee : Thanks !

baquitania : Thanks dude. I'm working on my digital skills. got a tablet and it's fun. Will show some of that stuff soon.

For now... Here's a self portrait I'm working on. trying the push the pencil and learning 'bout values

Wow- I really like your drawings- and I can see a clear progression. The fact that you got Clint Eastwod in there makes you aces in my book. I'll say this since you're a bartender and not fully surviving on art yet (I'm assuming)- fight with everything you have to do this! Beautiful work.

Very nice tonality in your works. It makes me wish I had tried to learn shading.

Last SP is looking real good! Love the values you're putting down!

You're faces are excellent, how about giving us some more bodies, and other anatomy?

    Hi Ca 'ers !

Couple of people asked me to show some of my drawings I do from imagination.
Well, to tell you the truth, I think that's one of my weak points. Really have to work on that. But I plan to start drawing more and more stuff without ref. I started drawing more intensely over the last couple months, and realy been enjoying it. So I'm gonna try to push it as far as I can.
Thanx for all the support guys !

    - vigostar : Oh man ! you're just too nice

    - That fat kid : I'm glad to hear that kid, thanks. But I stand by my reply

    - bumskee : Thanks man! Looking forward to it myself

    - ApolloNuevo : Thanks. Yeah , I tried that but I didn't came out the way I wanted
    - ebrowning : Yeah, been seeing the progression a little myself, Fun! Thanks dude , realy motivating reply !
    - Placeboast : Thanks a lot , honoring man

    - dCepT : Thanks. I tend to draw faces automatically, have to work on that. For now : look below and there you go ...

Started doodling , No ref. , letting my pencil slide across my paper random and this is what came out , fairly happy with it. Gonna post more imagination stuff from now on. I'm hooked and there's no way back !!!! Anyway hope you like :
