A study I did of a statue of Joan of Arc - from photo. I would love to see the actual statue at Notre Dame, as I am in love with it.
Anyway, I blew the study as I ended up enlongating her face - the statue's face is far more "boxy." But aside from that caveat, I think it came out fair.
Pencil on paper.
All the best,
Strong pencil renders dude- very tight and accurate! Your creatures rock!
Beautiful work here Oregano!. Truly inspirational body of work. Loads of improvement is easy to see from the beginning of this thread. You should be proud of your achievements. Keep posting, i would love to see more of your studies.
Lovely pencil work Oregano!
I really like those two jester/alien characters from the previous page. Awesome designs.
Here's one that I did originally on a sticky note at work, and then redid in painter last night after working on the mermaid for Chow.
All the best,
I enjoyed peeking through your sketchbook, some really amazing work in here. Your pencil work is amazing!
The improvement over the last couple of years is awesome Shane. The one thing I'd like to see you work more on is presentation/graphic design skills. I think that a break through in that area will help your work immensely. We need to get you down to Seattle one of these days.
Interesting thing is, I am a graphic designer by trade - that's my day job right now. I tend to avoid it when I'm doing my artwork, because I do it all day long.
You can see some of it slip out if you troll the Chow threads - I did all the header graphics and buttons there.
But, you're right. I should spend more time on that than just slapping the stuff on the page. Jason got on my ass about the the same thing.
okay that was fun. Going back to draw draw draw. I'm not intimidated..
Oh well i'll just have to get over it and do what i have to do
It was looking through your sketchbook
