Pringle- That is just.....beautiful. I am enthralled by this piece and have a million questions. You don't have any tutorials or walkthoughs do you? Again, amazing work.

pringle, omg man, your like my new favourite artist! I checked out your site, and you have amazing work!
You also have very good work, very inspiring. VERY love this thread already. Hmm, i wouldnt mind seeing work in progress environments either, i donno if it would be ok to post them here or not? Or just there be another thread for that?

Ecsdesign, both are great, my fave is the second one, love the txture and colours. Nice!
Here is a progress shot, I sketched some architectual details in my sketchbook before going for the computer.
Always get the big shapes down before going into details.
May 6th, 2005 #15
Pringle- Thanks so much for the progress shots. In between steps 1 and 2 you're physically painting all of the structural details (window "frames" and other extrusions) right? That must be insane! And it all looks so spot on. Simply amazing sir.

Awesome thread here... wish I had some time for crits.
Put your hands in the air like you got the heat to your back
and shake your body like a baby born addicted to crack
And since lifes a gamble like the crabstables at Vegas
I freestyle my destiny, it's not written in pages

kidcrucial, All is painted. As far as the details go, I did a lot of vertical lines to start with. As I only have one vanishingpoint I could hold down the shift key to make sure my verticals were aligned.
May 6th, 2005 #18
Pringle- Yeah, that's what I did in the raining enviro pic above. As for the receding lines, do you use a lasso tool to make sure you maintain the perspective, or do you just have an insanely steady hand and a sharp eye?

Atmospheria- Very nice work! I love the mood of this piece. I checked out your website too (very nice work btw, and congrats on your Expose 3 inclusion) and bookmarked it quickly. Again, beautiful work.

DAMN!! I love enviros! And THAT is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mauve takes offense at my having said, "I am an artist" - which I do not take back, because that word included, of course, the meaning: always seeking without absolutely finding. As far as I know, that word means: "I am seeking, I am striving, I am with all my heart."

Well what i ment, is did you use, 1 point perspective, 2 point etc, atmospheric, or what, for that piece?
Al x - VERY nice design love them, especially the trias!
Tolgahan gungor: That is sooo amazing wow! I think i saw that over at CGtalk somewhere... Awsome work anyhow.
Also, maybe soon or something, a moderator can sticky this thread if its cool.

kidcrucial, I used the lasso and the quickmask + my unsteady hand
This is a quick photo collage and paint combo.

Thanks Pringle. This last one is awesome. You have a great way of capturing that vast feel in your pieces. Nicely done.
