    Moo.
Hehehe....I just got shot in the buttock. Thanks MCC - I love a crit straight from the COW's teet. I feel so cheap and dirty with my RPG image.

Ooh, the crit cow finally speaks! And with creamy wisdom about my entry - thankyou, your majesty.

MIKECORRIERO and Xia really took my eye with their submissions this week. Both fantastic images, if slightly lacking from a concept point of view - that's not really a crit though, as not every entry has to break new ground. It is however, my justification for placing my vote elsewhere as I'm fairly sure one of those will win anyway.

I really wanted to give my vote to Oregano, as I really think you pulled something out of your magic bag this week, but I think someone else deserves it just a little more.

0kelvin gets my vote. Terrific idea, my man. Well done.

just remembered -prehistoric, i think it's better not to have any solid blacks in your pictures. in nature-nothing is ever solid black.there's always some shade in it,and nothing is as dark as solid black. if you use it in your pics it makes them abit unbelievable therefore.
    atleast in my opinion.

Thanks for the crit Mike! I am flattered you felt I used reference on this one but alas it is not so. I had spent quite a while trying to come up with a very fluid looking pose before settling on this one. In all actuallity I should have used reference because it would have saved me from spending so much time fumbling around on the initial sketch. (and I would have gotten the back legs right) As for the background, I was trying to create a very mysterious and haunting feel with this great beast emerging from a fog.
Here is the sketch I used to paint over, just if you're interested.

    Kinda funny, but
I am with you Oregano. Kudos. The guy knows what he/she's talking about. Hope you stick with us the next round.

    Mike> Superb!

All>> Great work this round guys. Especially those who keep pushing the quality boundary Oregano, Mike Cor, Gloklund, leckronium.

Matt>> My man, you've always been a great inspiration. (Don't cry now)

JoBesu & Fungi>> I love you guys works, hope to see you guys next round. We missed you.

RedAlert & Prehistory>> Glad to see you guys stick around. Woot to Seattle!

PS: Thanks for all the C&C (They are all well recieved and greatly appreciated) I would give crit if I could, but I really suck at it so...forgive me for that.

To all>> Serve me all your brains so I can become more powerful!

PS2: Dougbot & Prostate>> Jesus hates you guys because I am his favorite.

I voted for jmascho. I really thought his piece was amazing. The lighting on his creature is just amazing.

I liked how some of the others were rendered much better, but I went with Youngpaddy on account of the concept.

    Cow

Mike, thanks for the vote! And the crits (from everyone). I'm hoping to dump more time into the C.O.W.'s now, so it's appreciated.

Matt, thanks for the pointed crits as well. You're right in that I should have spent more time on the back in the picture, but I can tell you that it was designed all the way to its spade shaped tail. I just should have showed it!

On to the NEXT ROUND! ALL HAIL THE COW!!

I voted for Mike. Xia was a close runner up. I loved them both, but Mike's had an undeniable punch. The upper portion of the Xia comp itself seemed a bit less striking, but if Mike's didn't kick so hard, I'd have gone for it.

    Mike, well done!

    -Craig

p.s. redehlert - Your choice of presentation didn't cheapen it for me. So long as things are consistent and well done in their given context, I don't see a problem in the slightest. On the other hand, that thing's a humanoid that happens to stroll out in the moonlight. That part might have cheapened it anyhow, don't sweat it.

Hey Craig - sweat not included....all good here, bro. But thanks. I didn't consider the humanoid aspect I guess cuz I was thinkin' more of a mouse/ape combo that had evolved a bit. My next one will be better....but I still feel cheap and dirty. Thanks for the thoughts, bro.
    Cheers!

finally voted: even though it doesn't really matter anymore. I voted Gloklund. I loved this the first time I saw it and I am still amazed everytime the piece is on my screen. I really dig the pose, and the creature looks real predatory but the best part of the piece is the atmosphere. It is really apparent it is a foggy damp night and the setting is just eerie.
