    new Artwork-stop on in

some figure drawings from the past couple of months. this page was done in pen with water color wash. i think these poses were about 5 minutes each.
and no, hes not wearing a wig.

Those wash gestures are really lovely!
It seems like the 40-minute pose is much less confident. You should work with the same speed and looseness even if you know the pose will be long!

beautiful life drawings here.... it is a good thing to practice from a model. do you ever draw people from life? i like both, but have not made it to enough model sessions recently... keep it up!

    Drawing is fun.

Wow man, these life studies are looking GREAT! Looks like Gury did his job well. These just remind me how much I need to work from life more often. Keep 'em comin man. You know you're holding out on us.

    Very cool indeed.

I love the life that your quick lines have ... the 2nd image here (40min pencil drawing) doesn't look quite so good because the outline has been overworked into solid black all the way round, which is making it seem really rigid compared to your other works.

    Keep it up!

That piece goes in my 'Top 10 sketches that just need to be finshed' list. Lovely expression, and there's really something in those eyes... eye.

Wow, the paynes grey watercolor head is brilliant. Are you going to do any more with this piece? Also really like the figure drawings in pen and wash (first image).

Collingswood! Awesome, that's where I lived when I was 2!
Great stuff, man! I love the sketchy aspect or the figure drawings-- they look really cool! And those women's faces are gorgeous!

You got some nice stuff but you got a couple really solid pieces in there that arn't finished. Are you planning on finishing them? I know this is the sketchbook and not the finished section but I'd really like to see those two portraits finished.
