    Thanks guys .

I'm doing some finished pic as mentioned earlier and here is the WIP thread

Here is some shading practice. I sketched monk from one painting.

And two characters. I didn't give much thought about design. It was kind of improvisation.

    Onir - Thanks!
Denysiuk - Dzięki. Chciałem kupic takie designerskie markery ale w Polsce raczej się tego nie znajdzie. Znalazłem tylko takie grube brushpeny w roznych odcieniach szarosci o nazwie Tombo ABT.

There was no update for a long time beacause I went for a week to Ireland.
Recently I used topic generator and one of the results was: Twisted Emperor
I thought it would be fun to draw some character that is twisted

Syd Mead Gnomon DVD about thumbnails inspired me also to draw some quick and small character designs. I finally started to concetrate more on idea

hey man, nice update. the twisted emperor came out nicely; his posture is all funky and I like the way you stretched his face lol... cool character thumbs, some nice designs in there. be cool if you were to maybe take these to a more rendered step hehe keep at it man.

I'm loving those rendered figures... also great thumbnails.. I missed your enviro wip... looking cool... looking at it quickly though, it seemed to me that the tower and the blue lightsource are competing and the intensity of the blue makes that jump out and look closer than the tower, messing with the perspective....

Onir - Thanks. Emperor's stretched face was inspired by some chatacter from second season of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex . I won't take all of them to rendered stage but maybe these that I like the most.
glikster - Thanks man. Such strong lightsource in night scene was very challange. I knew that there are going to be such problems after finishing this enviro

Today only few pages. I made some thumbnail costume designs, took one of them to finished state. I'm not totally satisfied of rendering... oh well... nothing will be ever perfect...

hey man, cool update. love the variety you throw in your sketches, some really nice design ideas in there. I also really like the way this character came out; he seems a bit unbalanced (maybe you were going for that since he has a peg leg type of thing goin on) but the rendering and design look really nice. only other crit besides the unbalanced comment is that his head looks a little small. good work once again man.

very cool... with the costumes, did you try to incorporate styles you were thinking of or did you just throw shapes on the figure? I'm just curious because I like the variety in them....

Onir - Thanks man. I noticed later that one leg is too short but was too lazy to correct this
glikster - I just throw single shape on a figure and see what happens . Thanks for comment.

One page with doodles. I noticed that a subtle colour makes a pencil drawing a bit more alive. I might use more of that.

I agree, the subtle color you through on the last page does make it feel a bit more alive. really like the dramatic lighting on the head in the corner. nice lady as well, I like the shading on her as well; her left arm feels a little weird to me though, kinda in an uncomfortable position or something. only crit I can find lol, keep at it

Onir - Thanks! I knew the arm looks weird and I changed it many times but finally gave up. I'll look at some photo next time.

I want to do enviroments for some time. I got a bit rusty in painting them.

I know that photos have very poor colours and everything but they're fastest way to start learning. Here are some referenced speedpaintings.

    glikster - thanks!

I recently have some kind of artistic block. I know I can create many things but something stops me from drawing or painting. Here's what I made since last update.

Most of my enviro sketches are totally abstract doodles so I posted only those two worth showing.

    My cat resting.

hey man, beautiful digital paintings. really like the third one from an update ago as well as the digital one from this most recent one. the environment sketches are really nice as well; love the waviness of the left one and the lines in the right give a nice moving feeling to it (looks a bit flat though; might be because the left one has some greys in it). lastly, love the kitty; you always seem to draw your cat nicely great work man, not much I can really crit.. just keep it up!

Thanks for all comments and motivation.

I went recently to some atelier to learn a bit of some stuff. Here's some drawing from life.

And other stuff. I'm trying to get loose line.

I am recently really interested in cel-shaded style (although I'm not planning to draw anime). Here's some crappy experiment with really stiff pose :/. As you see I'm not very confident in inking pencil drawing.

whoa great pen sketches man! I really like the first one, the one with the boat and the faces in the water, and last one with the three guys jumping (very comicy feel to that last one). such energy in all of them too.. seriously great work on all of them. would be cool to see if you painted some of these

    SantaClaus - Thanks!
Onir - Maybe I'll paint some of these. I don't know. Thanks for feedback.

I have problems with drawing female heads so here are few studies from photos.

It was supposed to be few minutes doodle but ended up something more detailed.

hey man nice updates. I like the head studies (watch the nose in a few spots though) and I like the guy with the sword alot, nice design to em (the glasses, mustache, and mohawk give him quite the unique look ). cool diablo enviro as well, I really like the way you went about it, especially in the 3D view. it's funny just today I was talking with my roommate (who is an architecture student) and he told me he bought a a bunch of grayscale brushpens for sketching environments and such. I told him about your drawings and I'll probably show them to him when I can; he always likes good architectural sort of sketches so I'm sure he'll enjoy yours.

nice updates once again man, keep at it.

Onir - Thanks! I study architecture but I don't feel very confident while drawing this kind of stuff. My sketches have lack of good design, very boxy shapes . Gotta work on that.
As for greyscale brushpen. I have only one and it's not enough so I might buy second one .
glikster - Hehe. Thanks man. But... cel-shaded guy? Ok... I covered this sketch with new piece or paper and made her more feminine . I have to work on that too. Here's the improved version.

    Some doodles with mechanical pencil.

And quick interior with quite simple and random design.

A lot of progress going on here ! I really like your gestures and the loosiness of your last digital pieces. But i think you should work a little bit more on pincel toning and faces.
    keep posting man !
