    Re-Design Activity (#5 Legendary Creatures)
Hey all. Good subject. Let me know what you think. Is this image too big? (I am having issues with the file size and uploading... sorry)

hmm.. its very asian there, Rick. i suggest a different pair of shoes. even bigger would suit this dude, otherwise its tapers too much as your eyes run down the piece. also, keep in mind frankenstien's monster was made of different parts from different people. perhaps a better indication of that would work for you (you know, mix it up a bit). the pieces fit too well together, thats all im saying.. like the dr cut a fat dude up, painted him green and stitched him back together. id like to see a larger top portion of the head (parietal? meh im trying to remember the anatomy studies..) not necessarily the forehead but it could work if you enlarged the back of the skull.. just a suggestion.

thanks 'stoph for the comment, to be honest it started out as a different character, and I kind of last minute decided he could be my frankentstein. The one I'm working on now, is a lot closer to your suggestions, and more to what I want rendered. I hope you check it out when I post it. Thanks again.

Here's my pic. Again, lack of time makes this a not-so-quick sketch (it took longer than I had to devote to it; gonna suffer tomorrow). I couldn't just stop with one monster, so I covered Frankenstein and Dracula.

    Re-Design Activity (#5 Legendary Creatures)

Frankenstein - basic idea: a buffed up, multi-ethnic version of the monster from the Mary Shelley's Frankenstein flick.

Dracula - basic idea: playing off the draconic heritage of the name (Drakul).

A lot of things are off, I know. Comes with sketching and my lack of patience sometimes - especially with inking (had to ink this because I can only 'scan' with a digital cam for now; tried to make it much more loose than usual, and messed up some bits along the way).

    C&C always much appreciated.

Hm... not much activity here, it seems. Here are my pics and their story.

I knew I was going to do characters rather than anything else right away. But which characters? After a bit of thinking, I decided to redesign the 'generic' Jedi and Sith concepts (if there is a generic Sith, anyway). Two sabers were supposed to be standard issue for each; moreover, one of them would have a protruding thingy, and the other a hole thingy, so that they could be joined together to form a double blade or separated at will. I didn't really like these much, so I went wacky (curved the hilts; if there were blades visible, they'd have the shape of a katana - after all, why not? ). Here are the visualisation sketches (quickly added some value only for the puproses of showing here, something like 15 minutes maximum):

But I didn't really like any of these, so I started thinking more, and then it hit me: the original Stormtroopers always seemed way too wishy-washy for me. Nothing stormy about them... and not a whole lot of troopery, either. They missed everyone, even with all those shots fired (I know, I know, plot devices), etc. The clones were a bit better, but they lacked the simplicity of the original troopers, on the other hand. So here it is, my menacing () Stormtrooper redesign (a sniper rifle and a heavy blaster attached to the backpack):

    Enjoy. Or don't.
