    Mariah Carey`s most stupid Quote ever....@_@° The situation in Africa shouldn`t be pointed out as a joke....

    Okilidokili heres my go on the topic=

    "You don`t win a war by dieing for your country , you win a war by making the other man die for his country" - Don`t remember from whom...

    "Technological and scientific development will doom humanity if morality and ethic will be left behind" - Albert Einstein (Translation from German...probably not correct but it points out the same as the original)

    oh and something else...not really a quote=
    One day Kennedy walked into a empty Hangar. there was only one old man who cleans up the floor in the Hall. Kennedy asked him "What is your Job ?" The old man answered "I help to bring a man on the moon Mr. President"

    Forgive the thread necromancy. I was looking for a thread to post random quotes & pieces of wisdom because i just stumbled upon a good bunch. So back from the dead arises the quotes thread.

    Something from a program im listening to that stood out to me:
    "you measure the civility of a law, and civility of a society by how they treat those who are hated"

    All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.
    - Sun Tzu, the Art of War

    Absence makes the heart grow fonder
    -William Shakespeare

    In the future everybody will be world famous for fifteen minutes.
    -Andy Warhol

    The best way to know God is to love many things.
    -Vincent Van Gogh

    The highest stage in moral ure at which we can arrive is when we recognize that we ought to control our thoughts.
    -Charles Darwin

    An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.
    M.K. Gandhi

    I have always found that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice.

    "Why do young people have gap years? They haven't done anything. They should have a full year, in which they do nine times as much as they've done in any year up to that point, so they can know what the rest of life is like. Which is walking through a desert with a bag over your head, bumping into people who rob you as they bore you."

    "IF" Rudyard Kipling

    "If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you.
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
    Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or being hated don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

    If you can dream-and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think-and not make thought your aim;
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat these two impostors just the same;
    If you can hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
    IF you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings-nor lose the common touch,
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And - which is more - you'll be a man, my son!"

    “You get ideas from daydreaming. You get ideas from being bored. You get ideas all the time. The only difference between writers and other people is we notice when we're doing it.” Neil Gaiman

    "One time me and three friends dropped acid and drove around in my dad's car. He has one of those talking cars, we're tripping, and the car goes, "The door is ajar." We pulled over and thought about that for 12 hours. "How can a door be a jar?" … "Why would they put a jar on a car?" … "Oh man, the freeway's melting" … "Put it in the jar." - Bill Hicks

    Man, I've tons of quotes....here's my latest:

    "Information that's classified for the qualified should remain so.
    The voice of ignorance envying your position has no other weapon
    to cool their flames besides questions seeking answers that fuel
    contradiction. Dumb people use crude weapons and barbaric techniques,

    Just a couple I like.

    "If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. “Invictus” by William Ernest Henley

    Out of the night that covers me,
    Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
    I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

    In the fell clutch of circumstance
    I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
    My head is bloody, but unbowed.

    Beyond this place of wrath and tears
    Looms but the horror of the shade,
    And yet the menace of the years
    Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

    It matters not how strait the gate,
    How charged with punishments the scroll,
    I am the master of my fate;
    I am the captain of my soul.

    I remember that from the Monster anime. Loses some of it's poetry when taken out of context i think.

    For those curious, this is the anime.

    The story is like a glacial flow, in that it is as slow as it is powerful. If you were in anyway inclined you could watch at all in streaming format. It's not hard to find.
