Quinster - yeah, wookies...heck of a lot easier than humans...

Okay, having just banged my head against the immovable wall of human faces I now bow before other artists surperior ability to render humans. Holy cow was this hard...I need to draw humans WAY more often. I know I could give Mr. Solo here as flexible a face as Chewie...but only after lots and LOTS of practice. I can understand why comic book artists have a hard time just keeping the likeness, never mind giving the face the same elasticity of the real person. It's an Everest I'd like to climb though...so in addition to animals and anatomy, I add facial practice! MUAHAHAHAH!!!!......oh dear...

I think the closest I got was middle row, left.

I think bottom right looks most like mr ford. The idea of drawing same people repeated scares me... you've done well. hehe..

Um, famadorpierre, you're supposed to start a sketchbook thread of your own. That's awesome work, there, though.

Wizard - hehe, always aim to please! Thanks!

bumskee - you think it doesn't scare me?? It shows me exactly how little I know about drawing faces. Excellant practice though...

famadorpierre - um, yeah - first of all, please start your own thread. I'm only too happy to visit other people's threads and give crits. Otherwise...you have a nice grasp of shading, esp. picking out pits in the skin. The braid is working on the left hand side, but not on the right. Do a little more studying of dog anatomy: even cartoon dogs still retain the essential structure of a real dog. Thanks for dropping by.

Kat_Warrior - hey, thanks! That's a great site, lots of useful reference photos. I'll definitely try my hand at those sometime soon...and puffins...I haven't forgotten!

More anatomy and some trial cartooning of Han. I need to study more.

Ms.Teigrob, you are astounding! Although, Han Solo might need some work...it needs to look more like Harrison Ford, the character is perfect though

Quinster - I know...(sigh) My humans are, well, lacking in the accuracy department. I'll keep practicing - although, I think I'll move on to other characters for the moment. Mr. Solo is going to have to wait until I get "Star Wars" and can advance frame by frame! hehehe...

I was camping this weekend, so that's my excuse for not posting...

More of Solo, and moving on to the cute kinkajous...

And, I wanted to share a precious moment from my camping trip on the Olympic Peninsula here in Washington State. Heh...anyone ever tried raw oysters fresh out of the shell? This was my first experience, and I have to say, after the initial total gross out reaction...they weren't that bad!

Sweet stuff! Mr. Solo is coming along nicely. Work a bit more on the noses, maybe a castshadow under it to avoid it getting too flat. All the other stuff is tops as always!
