book cover-mostly finished, but need fresh eyes

This is a cover for a mystery anthology book. It's mostly finished, but still needs some tweaking. The client wanted a flat background, but I didn't want to leave it too flat, so I roughed in some trees.

The book is called "When Boomers Go Bad." I guess that's supposed to be a dead hippie in the van. It's a mystery book though, not horror, so no rotted flesh corpse.

    I'd appreciate any constructive crits.

    Thanks!
    chris

Wonderful work so far, a very attention grabbing picture. Love that delicate work on the metal texture and stickers.

Only thing I might try to tweak, is to bring some of that red into the VW's shadow, as a way to pull our eye down from that bright red top.

Asuming there's going to be text at the bottom as well, you might want to soften the grass closest to us as a little also.

I like it, but the red background doesn't appear to be affecting anything in the foreground, which really seperates them (as in being different images).

Thanks guys! That's the kind of stuff I was looking for. I did a quick overpaint on a jpg, and your suggestions help bring it together. The blur adds some depth to the illo as well.

    cheers!
