    Figure Drawing Classes.

I swear to God, I have none of these near me.

I have looked at a few of the closer Comunity Colleges and cannot find one, and I see no ads or anything! How in the hell am I going to find one? I really need to take one so I can get better!

I like waaaay out in the country. About 15 mins from Norman, Oklahoma, and 30 from Oklahoma City.

    Any help/ ideas?

    no necessary

if you can't find figure drawing, teach yourself.

Get a book, read some excercises, and just draw.

Draw people walking, draw yourself nakid (HAHAH not totally of course)

In art school, if you take your art serious, the models are vomit material, but you have to learn to explore and draw their material.

Worst case, you can draw clothed people from life and do nudes from reference. I'm sure you can find people to sit for you if they don't have to get naked. Good luck.

See if a art teacher is willing to help you with your studies look for studios too, they usually do not advertise...you gotta sorta find them, in most cases.

You are better off calling around to any arts organizations local to your part of Oklahoma. Ask about classes that they run. If they don't offer a figure group, ask if they have a portrait group or class. Call the teacher or moderator and ask if they know of any figure groups that are local. Chances are they might. Sometimes these groups can be tiny, run out of someone's home and don't have the savvy or means to get the word out. If the portrait group is all that's available then go to that. You will get good practice doing portraits as well. The key is to network to find out what is near you that you would never find on your own. You will meet some nice like-minded people in the process.

the way most of us start out is by doing self portraits. If you want to take it to the next level pose naked for yourself. Worst case scenario = you'll find that awekward looking mole on your ass before it turns into full blown cancer.

Second, if your dad comes home tired from a full day of busting his ass to feed you and your family, and passes out on the couch infront of the TV, instead of helping your Mom cook him his dinner, get a sketch pad going and draw the shit out of his snorring ass.

Third, get a girlfriend and have her pose for you. You may even be able to lay a guilt trip on her, something like "Stop getting in the way of my dreams and goals!!!" (don't forget to sob and whine), to get her naked. And if you've already had sex with her then the "my dreams" bit should work better. Just one warning, it's damn hard to focus on drawing when you have a naked girl lying in your bed.

Fourth, endure the beatings from your friends and an almost deffinite loss of your friendhip with them, by asking them to pose naked for you. My art teacher in High School said that when times were tough, her and her friend took turns posing nude for each other. I never put this to practice, but came very close (only problem was that everyone was too drunk to draw and i was WAAAYYY too drunk to stand still).

Fifth, follow benzo's advice and get the hell out of there. Oklahoma??? What the hell are you thinking of anyways? Hey, the people may be nice and not fit my Okie stereotype, but its still Oklahoma.

if you're confident enough, a lot of waitresses are more than willing to make a quick buck.

    try hooters' or all-night diners.

    werked fer me.
