hey, thanx for droppin by my sb.
i'll try to return the favour.

from what i see so far i can say you should probably stop shading for some time and return to pure lineart drawings. try to get your pics to look "3d" with lines only (meaning lineweight). i'm having trouble with that sometimes myself, but i'm working on it,and so should you. train your anatomy, and your line security. you're scribbling quite alot where you could draw one straight line. one way to solve that which i found recently is to simply draw in inks. using ink pens forces you to think carefully before laying down your strokes and it also helps you with seeing contrasts. although in this case i'd perhaps go back to anatomy books and lifedrawing abit more before going freehand. although you could try to draw with ink from anatomy books...hmm...i should attempt that myself.(EDIT: didn't browse thorougly, only saw page one, this stuff's alot better)
anyways, work on the basics abit more,so you know them more or less in-and-out. that way you'll have alot easier time with shading f.ex.
    keep it up

hey man, good stuff going on here.
When you're doing studies, try to really see the subject, not just put the lines in the paper, see and see. You'll save the lines in your head, you'll process it and then you'll be able to really put a worthy line.
I like what you're doing with your shadows, learn to see where the shadow pattern is a then block it with a soft line, then work your way from there.
Anyways, as said before, draw draw draw, is the more efficient way of achieve your goal.
    Cheers bud

Yeah, wow, those pencils for CD cover show a lot of sophistication! Keep up the balance of life drawing and drawing from ref. Keep it up and you'll get more confidence in your line. Great progress so far.

    Hey babe
Really nice stuff there with the cd-cover design. Keep at it!
Like your latest one too, keep working on it. I wonder how it would look if you gave the boy some colours, instead of making him all blue.
Try looking for some underwater view references

Visible progress. You still need to work on your pencil shading. It is still a bit too harsh, methinks. Keep drawin!
