    HI

I like the girls face on post #358! Its very nice. but I have to say it still bothers me that all your shading lines face the same direction. It might just be me but I had to mention it. keep on going

Good stuff! Seems you are getting the values down a lot better now! And you're using bigger brushes when painting, which makes your stuff look a hella better just from that Push a couple of the OC's a bit further in PS! I think they can look real good with a little more lovin'!

NIce little update you've got. I like the tonal values on the little guy with the stash. Like D-cept said, its good that your using bigger brushes. I'm finding that with the bigger brushes it forces us to establish the basic geometry and form of the subject. Really great progress. I'm going to add to your Stars!

    Later Mate

nice improvement in here mate, hard work pays off quickly, no matter if you realize that or not.J
    just keep pushing

make sure you challenge yourself once in a while with a finished piece, to put all you've learned together and start off with a clean mind.

keep working hard, i'll be back

#361 is awesome, I love the expresion and life in that drawing. the layouts look like a good start. I never realized how hard comic layout was till I tried to do it. looks like you;re getting a pretty good grasp of it though.

excellent work mate, you're working hard man, and it shows.
I must admit i'm not really a fan of the technique you're usign (the traditional one)...try usign markers as you use the grey values in PS:Build up shadow and lights from a neutral grey background.WHen you have time, challenge yourself with a master study maybe.
Nevermind if the stuff needs cleaning up and refinement, it all comes with time.
You're doing great, and thats what counts, keep it up!

    ciao

Man I see the Ronnie Coleman in that one portraits face. You should slow down and polish one of the sketches. You've got a real good foundation on some of the portraits, just tighten them up a little. I find that I learn the most actually trying to finish something. And yes you are PUMPING these out. Total kudos on that my friend

Yeah... slow down on some of these! They look better and better... try using the flat broad edge of your markers to put down larger areas of shade... less scribbly look You're developing a better understanding of both anatomy and facial structure with the stuff you're doing now! Keep it up!

all i can say is that i admire the tons of hardwork and i'm totally positive that one day it WILL pay off.
keep going as hard as u do now and just remember to stop sometimes and do a full render to keep your hand trained for it. g'luck!

Whats up with all those "sucks", "shit" and so on comments! You should stop putting your energy in 'dissing' what you've drawn and rather try the same thing again (with the mindset that you're going to get it drawn better now!) or at least forgive yourself.
Just saying it's shit won't get you anywhere, it's just not constructive.

    Keep the drawing going.

you should spend more time with some of your sketches. I think this would improve the quality.

for being poor effort,it looks pretty good
poor effort would have been to stop halfway through this pic and either post it directly or scrap it...like i sometimes do :/
i really like the dude's face...just the right amount of detail, and great expression.
if you were to finish this up,i'd just say put some harder edges on the light side of the face ("tighten it up").
jens had some good, small tutorial in his sketchbook about that.
