    zzzordbook - 11 June

I've been a frequent visitor of the site and always get inspired by the likes of El Coro, Insane Visions, Marko, Wes, HardcorePixxx etc., so I finally got a scanner and decided to make a sketchbook here.

I know I can improve and i'm pretty certain that conceptart.org can do it for me.. well, with one part hardwork, one part dedication, and one part community. Crits are always welcome too, so crit away.

    Well, thanks for stopping by.

It's getting to be that time again where the semester ends and days seem to drag-on [get it? Dragon??!!] until it's finally over. But, no petty complaints from me. Just a lack of updates.

This sketch is beyond all sorts of f*cked up, but I figured i'd post anyways.

I liked how it first started...

...but then it just crashed and burned.

Sorry about not posting folks, i've just moved into my new dorm for the summer, still getting it situated, and finally getting the internet connection here set up.

Here are some really quick ones:

hey ownzord, cool stuff. your lines definitely own mine
one thing i'd be careful with, though, is your outlining. outlining tends to flatten images and make them look veryyy static. try not to do that as much as you do now. instead of outlining the edges, define them with value changes. as always, keep working on your anatomy. keep it up!

After not posting anything in a while, well, here goes... eh...

I almost didn't post [because well, they're not pretty] but did so because no pain, no gain; even if it sounds cliche. The first two are self portraits, and then the last two are cheap copies of Michelangelo's figure studies. I know, I know, they don't do him any justice. I need to relax, because I never have the patience to sit and just draw, and then the proportions are all wrong, and the values, and it's just alllll effed. Heh...

    Mini Dump

Some from the last couple of days

The last one started as a doodle but turned into an unconcscious cartoony self portrait of sorts.

I haven't been posting as of late... but i'm still sketching; no worries.

There are a few airport sketches, and other random things.

I wanted to dabble with color in the last one, let me know what you think!

I went to the used bookstore the other day and found 3 Bridgeman books for fairly, cheap, in pretty new condition too. But here are a few studies from there, it's about time...

i like your shading but i think you have to work more on the proportions. The paintings are nice good sense for colors you have.
So my advice= Visit a life-class if possible...nothings as good as this when it comes to the studiing of proportions
