This is probably what I should be aiming for when doing gestures, I can never seem to loosen up enough, always worrying about whether everything is in the right place

    So much good practice here!

    prsnsweeney - Thanks man!

iolarnula - Thank you so much, yeah, its good to stay loose on the gestures, and not worry to much about proportions, gestures can basically look like crap, cause they aren't meant for perfection Just approach them next time with I don't give a shit attitude.

Thank you to everyone who is helping me stay motivated, seriously, recently I went to drawing not so much, but painting more...to drawing every freaking second and being super excited about it!!!! I am in love with it!!! Yesss It's kind of funny, every time I have a shower now, there is this interesting squiggly pattern on the wall and I keep seeing so many different figures in it!! I feel like drawing on my wall, all cause pose maniac studies!! haha! Anyways, here is some more stuff for your eyeballs.

Everything below is in blue ball point pen, some more 30 sec gestures from pose maniacs, a quick test study of breaking the human figure down into cubes....although I have no reference for this so I am unsure if I am doing this right lol...some figure studies from ref and really crappy self portrait...totally doesn't look like me haha, maybe a little resemblance but I can do better!! It is hard standing holding a drawing board and paper, looking in the mirror and drawing yourself from life with a ball point pen all at once!! Still liked the result though. Basically its time to do studies again, starting over once again, this is what I get for being a lazy ass. But I am liking the start.

Motivate me people! I am here to learn and grow! You guys rock!

Studies looking gooooooood! I love drawing with blue ballpoint and I'm tired of people who say it's not an artist's tool! It totally is

You might want to do a very rough and light sketch of proportions in your next self-portrait. Measure with pen if you need to. I like where your shading is going... try to follow the form even more! Gogogogoo

Mmm gatherings of figure studies. They must be having a party in your SB by now. Keep an eye on them. My advice is to not limit your figure construction to blocks, like in this pic; utilize various types of shapes and wedge them together. Your figures will show more weight this way.
