armaldon: cheers for the post and kind words. The doodlesheet was great fun. I do indeed eat and paint at the same time and not much chewing either! Batman remains untouched although i am begining to fancy doing some more spare time zbrushing. might do one of my own characters next.

I have been busy painting with acrylics a lot lately but they are not ready to upload yet!

For now here a few odds and sods.

That guy will totally die. That branch isn't strong enough to hold his weight!

Love the space ships and DOODLE page! Like whoa... I need to learn to do that while I'm waiting for Bioshock to load.

    Love the artz, Jake! Cheers!

cheers for the birthday wishes chaps.
I have just ben through all my stuff and grabbed the bits and bobs i have lying around from the last month. Mostly speedies. Also some foxes that are cropped from my strange behaviour challenge: decided the piece is not all that successful so am ambandoning it.. The Hyena is from stylised animal challenge. there are a couple of enviroment studies in here too...
i have some traditional bits and my 100th cow entry too but they will have to wait for next time.

I agree with the art dump, really good update from you. I find it interesting how you can shift from different styles in your pieces, like the first character designs realism compared to the other stylish ones. Somehow I found your environments as the strongest pieces in this dump. The hyena one is a favorite too

    Keep it up!

    Great stuff, Jake!

That snowy enviro piece is very good. It has a real sense of depth. The hyena came out really well, too. With the sunset pic, I reckon you could afford to be a fair bit bolder with the opacity and saturation to get it to pop.

    Keep it up!

    Ta, Nick.

david_kassan. Cheers for popping by! Your work is a big point of inspiration for me at the moment.
Maestro Andres: Thanks very much indeed. I do like to flit between to styles as much as i can.
here is my 100th COW entry!
Lukias: cheers! they are my faves too: i used a hard edge pallete knife for laying in and cuting back (toggling between black and white) and then also cut in with a textured eraser. I enjoyed those a lot and will be persuing them further.
Blue Severin: cheers mr! Here is my cow but after seeing some of the others i have to admit i feel a touch outclassed. There are some incredible entries!
oishiiniku: Hello my dear mr carver. I agree entirely about the sunset: it looks pretty wishy washy now i look at it again. MORE BALLS DAMMIT!
Idiot Apathy: HA i had abandoned that but only grudgingly: i might go back and play: its a crop from a bigger piece.
MattGamer: Thanks mat! Should we ever meet i will let you have a good play though it is mostly scribbles. I have strated sketchbooking more reguarly again: black biro for the win
    Cakey's sketchbook
Here is another good sized dump: including some acrylics i did a few weeks back. I intend to get some oils done over the next few weeks.

Woo, love the traditional. Those landscapes are awesome as well... being that they are SO simplistic with the colors. I get really confused with enviros and start throwing every color there is when I should learn from you and use less colors. Thanks for the comment in my sb.
