MattGamer: Thankyou very much! i have indeed seen the feng dvf (about robots right?) But the main influence on my thumbnailing in the skillful huntsman book by design studio press: go buy it now it is such a wonderful book!
Bones: thankyou! glad you like em all.
fooxoo: cheers indeed!

a lot of things on the technical side and some anatomy can be improved, but who cares...that just takes time...you definitely have a good eye for costumes and various designs...i LOVE the page of heads you posted recently on the 20th Oct...i am going to use that as a reference when i draw my own chars
love the set of girls you have painted that you use for your avatar...it's what made me look at your sketchbook.

cheers hpslashluvr! nice to get a more in depth crit. I will try and spend more time doing studies in future: i have a tendancy to only want to do fun stuff and overlook spending time doing anatomy studies/ work on my rendering and other such like. Thanks for your kind words! I wouldn't use my crappy page of heads for ref though: check out loomis: it gives you the grounding you need to build heads regardless of the style you want to achieve.
well heres a big old update (finally found the time to scan)
most of it is for an abandoned group project, where we were following the example in the skillful huntsman and creating visual material for a brothers grim fairytale (the singing bone). We are leaving it a alone though as a couple of members of our group were not there. We intend to pick a new story and start over.

Been enjoying your sketchbook a lot lately mate.
Might be cool to see more of a duotone style on these digital sketches as per your traditional sketches as well. And since that's an odd sentence, might be nice to see some lighter values sketched in over the digital sketches. And since that's also an odd sentence - keep up the good work dude!

cakeypigdog, it's looks like you've stopped playing the game. you might be one of those few people that, when I look at their art, I don't feel like I'm under attack, but instead that I'm being let in on something good. And I think these are very good.

Your stuff is getting really tight. I admire your thumbnails most of all. Keep up the good work.

fucking hell jake! there is some suberb stuff in those couple of batches, these two in particular really stand out:
that second one is spot on; could easily see that being the cover of a dark kids book or something- colour, balance tone etc all perfect!
