I just wanna say here that I think this shit is going great. I'm now critting, and discovering that I actually can crit pretty well, I'm getting regular crits , geting better from them, helping other people get better with mine, and on the whole our sketchbooks are getting a lot more bumpage exposure. This is really a big service to CA as a whole, man, as this is adding about 132 crits to the total posted on CA every night. That's 923 crits per week. Great idea, man, and great work, everyone that's been contributing. I think this thread deserves a sticky, and I anticipate this becoming a very large and wide-spread part of CA, as people start to see the benefits.
I agree, stick this sucka. This is helping me immensely already. And I have fun regularly posting in a few threads.
cool stuf.. And stick it!
I'd like to join.
Welcome to SSG #5 razuel! Now get postin' ya'll! So far it looks like it's me and Look that's posting the most! *pokes everyone in his SSG a bit*
Hi Badger and razuel, glad to meet you guys. Yeah, it seems DcepT and I were the only ones keep it up daily. Now we have fresh blood, we can poke the other two with more force.
Can I get added too; if there's a weekly uploading group that would be good for me; my life is crazy now and I don't see me being able to scan daily... I can browse and crit from work but that's it on a daily basis. Any way let me know.
ps cool icons

Hey i want in!
One prob, since i don't exactly update daily... but i upload alot when i do! so you won't have to comment on mine everyday..or week... lol
so, can i get in? please!
Crit for a crit!
OK, Zram and Soul, I added you to groups but those will likely just be temporary, until more people sign up, then I'll add you to group #6. Didn't want to put you in just a group of 2 members.
The groups are filling up fast.
ok, consider this a kick in the ass for sketchbook group 1. I think half our group died on us
I think it would be fun to throw a rule in here that if you don't post for a really long time, you get kicked out of the group, something reasonable, like a week. Which means, I got to get some sketching done tonight, or I get kicked out tomorrow!
Yo! Group 2! What happened to you guys? It's like it fell off of a cliff somewhere.
SF- Yeah, I posted this on my sketchbook, but I've lost my internet connection for now. I've been skanking myself onto other people's computers, computers with out the access to either a scanner or the ability to take my pictures from my camera.
But for real, once I get it back, I'm going to flood my sb. I've been on some crack addict-like drawing spree.
I think that's a good idea. You can always replace them with new members, since the newly applied ppl won't be able to form a group right away.Originally Posted by oracrest

Hey all, I'm kinda dead on my feet at the moment, so I can't really do much tonite. But tomorrow morning, I'm gonna shake a few things up. One of these things will be to form SketchGroup Lite, which will basically be for people who can't post daily, which will take pressure off them, and allow me to restructure the groups so that people who are posting daily are lumped together.
As for kicking people out, I'm kinda wary of that sort of thing. One of the things I'm gonna do tomorrow is go through every thread and see how people are posting. If someone hasn't posted in a while, I'll just ask if they want to opt out of the group. If they want to stick with it, then they can get back on track, or maybe move to Lite. Everyone has that rough week once in a while, so I don't wanna boot someone prematurely. But if I ask if they want to leave, and they've fallen off the face of the Earth, then I'll just remove them until they ask me to let them back in.
From now on I'm gonna take a more active hand in things, to try to keep everthing running smoothly for everyone. (Yes, group #1, that does mean I will start posting again myself).
So, after I've had time to check out everyone's threads, I'll post any changes here. Now, sleep...
awesome man.. can't wait for the updates
Good to hear that. =) It's more fair to people who's too busy to update daily that way too.
yeah i havent been posting much lately, either, but thats cause like only 1 person posts in my group....I wouldnt mind, what you said, Seraph sword, putting all the regular posters together, that way it will keep me posting as well, cause i lost motivation, from people not posting, therefore not commmenting, the comments, kept me going...
Hey group 2 - just a heads up and a reminder - if you check my original post in this thread, I said that I would not be able to post every day.
That said, I know I'm pulling sort of along stretch with no posts and I apologize. Aside from my freelance stuff, I've been dealing with a lot of life stuff that would not interest anyone for much, so I've not been getting much sketching done - hell haven't even been on the boards more than five minutes in the past week really.
I'll be posting again. Promise.
No prob, guys. Just get back to it when you can.
Hm...LaPalida's also accounted for...that leaves Pan.
Well, I've been watching this thread since the begining and it seems like a good idea, made even better by the potential modification of the groups. I don't even have a sketchbook thread, yet (I do now), but with only a few hours a week to draw, I think I'd have to go in the infrequent poster group (though I do post a lot of comments during little breaks at work, it wouldn't be prudent to whip out the sketchbook and lose myself for an hour).
You know what seems really tough to do?: making certain the groups aren't too heavily weighted one way or another in relation to skill level. It seems like a full mix in each group would facilitate the greatest growth for the group as a whole. How to do that, though? If you allow folks to pick, ala 3rd grade dodgeball, it may be likely that the fat kid with glasses will be left standing by himself at the end (man, that really hurt -sniff-).
Anyway, I'd like to be included, but will be out until Tuesday, when I should be able to stand up a sketchbook thread (maybe today if I get the chance), then will be MIA the last half of next week.
