    Really love the watercolor one, that guy has a lot of personallity for such a small study.

    The stone beasty, not so much. Over all, there's no focal point, just an evenly placed black and white balance. I feel like you could completely get rid of the whites on the knee on the left, and tone down the left wing, letting the face and right knee be stronger highlights.

    skulldog, your completely right, i got caught up on the highlights and went overboard. took your advise, here's the pic revised...

    I really like both of these, you did a great job on the highlights on the first one, the face is just right, you might want to consider just a little texture on the dark side of the pillar hes sitting on. The second one is a nice study, great expression.
