    2 years later.... p.2

This stuff is 2 years old! Go to page 2-3 for a new update

Well, my old sketchbook hasn't been updated in a long time and the stuff there is quite old so I thought I'd start a new one
hmm, well I'm a 15y old boy from Iceland, been taking drawing seriously for a year and a half I think. Im currently in 2 art courses, model drawing and drawing1, they're soon over (5 classes left) and then I'll try taking pics of all my stuff from there. Dont know what more to say so on to the drawings

did this yesterday, from a ref of two friends of mine
    2 years later.... p.2
aaand here's one of one of 'em again
    2 years later.... p.2
    some weird heads
    2 years later.... p.2
    2 years later.... p.2
some mafia dude (also posted in finally finished)
    2 years later.... p.2
    another mafia guy
    2 years later.... p.2
some rugby dude, trying out the painter IX trial
    2 years later.... p.2
Just trying to get into painter IX with these two also, wasn't thinking much about anatomy with the girl so she might be kinda weird, dunno.
    2 years later.... p.2
    2 years later.... p.2
    and then 2 ps speedpaintings
    2 years later.... p.2
    2 years later.... p.2

ok, as you may have noticed, these are all digital paintings
but I DO draw traditionally too, do alot of it in fact, but im just lazy as hell when it comes to scanning
but dont worry, one of those days when I go hyper, I'll probably scan them and put them up.
    C&c please

    well, scanned a few sketches
the pencil sp was done on saturday or friday
the others were all done today, trying gouache again
the self portrait, put some skull hat thing on my head, liked how my face changed when there's no hair around not quite sure about the likeness :/ but I think it's the best sp I've done so far, btw. I know the anatomy of the neck is fucked up, or at least the connection between the neck and the shoulders

Interesting concepts you have. Most of the colored pics seem a bit rushed though. Take your time and don't be afraid for details. I really like your selfportrait. Post more!

I was listening to Scissor Sisters and remembered that I had always wanted to do a pic of "the queen of a hundred heads" so I started sketching, scanned in and started painting in photoshop, the heads all came out quite man like and I think it'll take too much time changing them all so lets just say "king of a hundred heads" it's still in the early stages and I'd like all comments, critics and suggestions you've got, so hit me. (it took me long enough to rougly paint those 30 something heads, the other 70..lets just say they're behind the others or something

Aloha! Today was the opening of my class gallery show. We are 12 in the class and there were loads of paintings
I sold 5 of mine for cirka 290$ and since Im still only 15 I think that's pretty good and I'm all happy about it
My mom took a couple of pics there, you'll have to excuse that they're not that good, not taken directly in front of them and stuff.
I'll try and take better pictures in the week and post them here. but anyways, on to the pics
they are all oil on canvas except one wich is oil on masonite.

    freaky neck
    2 years later.... p.2
low res pic and bad angle
    2 years later.... p.2
some heads that I personally dont like that much
    2 years later.... p.2
    eruption
    2 years later.... p.2
a portrait of a boy and faces(only one Im really happy with)
    2 years later.... p.2
two pics kinda like the pirate one, was kind of a break through... didn't belive I could do this one at all but I decided to go for it. got really tired at the end and well enough babbling
    2 years later.... p.2
please c&c and stay tuned for better pics

Great Skuli, congratulations on getting your gallery show!

As already said, I wish I was as good as you that age.

The one with all the faces together is the one I like the best.

thought I'd throw in a couple o pics
here's an ugly creature, just trying out the whole concept thingy
the result: boring, unoriginal creature that looks like you don't know if it belongs in the 'creatures' box
    2 years later.... p.2

and here's a new self portrait, I didn't do it all free hand painting, I was just messing around with photoshop and turned a picture of myself into a 2 colored (b/w) big formed picture, then took it to OC and painted in to the white, kinda like it, though my left side looks fucked, but hey..I just got my brains blown out, guess that's kind of an excuse
    2 years later.... p.2

I've been doing alot in OC lately since I maybe have a little project going on with my friend, It's still at very early stages and not 100% sure it's gonna be finished but let's hope so. I'll tell you more about it after it's gone further.
Here are a couple of character designs:

    2 years later.... p.2
    2 years later.... p.2
I don't think I'll be using any of them as finals but we'll see

please leave a comment or a crit

ps. I've been doing a couple of oil paintings lately, haven't got a chance to photograph them but I'll put them here as soon as I've done so, stay tuned

wow i can really see some serious improvement over here.. good job!
i like how you do both digital and traditional, although i suspect you're way more patient with traditional media then with digital tools. try to focus at all times, seems like you got the right vibe going though..

A study of the death mask, saw Wes go at it and felt inspired, not nearly as good and I lost focus quickly, pain in my back causing a very fucking god damn headache and I can't focus very well in that state so likeness is pretty bad, and also I'm not quite good at cathing likeness. The scan is horrible but well okey enough of the negativeism (is that a word?) and on to the pic.

You have a really cool sketchbook, it's great that you're experimenting and doing creative things, just don't forget to draw from life. More anatomy study will help your drawings and paintings too. Work on your contruction and beginning stages and the result will look better. Keep going!

I really like that fish. It's a lot more 'finished' looking than the rest.
