Thanks to all of you for your nice comments. I hope I can make to post more regularly - just heard that there┤s some big task at work on the way and I fear I will go underground once again

Van, nice to hear from you. I┤ve seen you picked up your virtual sketchbook once again but didn┤t get to write some lines to you - I seldom find the time at the moment to do more than browse some threads but when I see your sb in the masses of stuff coming up I┤m always having a look.

Hurricane and Nike, it was great to meet you two and talk to you. I┤m sometimes surprised that people on IRC are even nicer in real life .

    Hope to see you again!

    Update 30.10.05

    Two small updates, both Prague-related.

The first one I did originally for a badge or "business-card" for Prague but didn┤t manage to finish it.

This one I made mostly on the airport waiting for the check-in. I wanted to try out to incorporate more symbolised forms in the drawing.

hey fipse. looks liek you had fun at the workshop fromthe pics i saw

your thunderdome piece is really quality i can tell you put a lot of effort in and spent time on it.

your last drawing is really nice contrast between the dark and the light it has an almost classical feel to it.

Hey Fipse, lots of cool concept designs and warrior poses. Accurate clasical feeling/poses. You'll ahve to show me how to do renditions of ancient men in armour!!

I must say I really like your inkings. I also like the last one with the dragon and the girl. Really like the old paper mood the brown color gives. The only thing I don't really like is the highlight on his back "fins" (you know the stuff on his back, forgot the English word ) They look a bit to dominant.
Hope you can get something out of this and I will be checking back.

    Update 06.11.05

@ Hurricane & Endregan Thanks mates!

@ Badger Yeah, it was fun for me meeting you, too. Hope we┤ll see us again sometimes.

@ Koshime I┤m always in for boring people with medieval stuff so be welcomed the next time we meet

@ Njord You┤re right about the fins of the creature. The highlights have been some kind of afterthought and been added in PS. I┤m not so glad abotu them either.

Here┤s my update for this time. I wanted to take part in the actual Character of the week contest but thought the deadline has been November the 6th so I missed it. Anyway this way I canshow you my concept of a human merchant, with stron eastern european influences and some dwarfish elements.

    Nice work all around Fipse.
I like the CHOW-non entry. Too bad you missed the deadline. It has a lot of character to it.

    Update 07.12.05

As you see my work kept me from updating quite a long time ... I hope everything┤working out better now - I┤ve got to draw some more normans .

First one is my last Thunderdome "Last man standing" entry. I got beat by Jmay so I will have more time to draw other things ...

In the next one I tried to participate in the CHOW "Transdimensional Dragon hunter". This time I didn┤t find the time to finish it. Yesterday evening I strangely was home quite early and could finish it.

Hope I┤ll find time to draw again in the next time - I definitely need more studies ...

Hey, Fipse! I really like the first one in the last update. I think you could still push the values and colors tho. The concept is pretty cool tho. I especially like the other guys in the background working on seperate bots. Creative little idea. Keep 'em comin'. And get us some studies and anatomy works as well!!

    Update 25.02.06

I┤m feeling a bit like Frankenstein reviving this thread because I haven┤t got anything done in the past few month. Hiatus, stress etc. pp. yaddayadda.

Anyway here are some more norman figures for the norman Kitguide I┤m working on. This time women. Unfortunately medieval clothing about 1050 hadn┤t had much to do with scantily clad fighting heroines

I┤m not completely content with the drawings but I suppose they will serve the purpose. Deliberately I again have chosen a simple white background to make it easier putting them on a website. The same with the lighting that shouldn┤t falsify the colours.

    Norman lower class women

    Norman middle class women

    Norman upper class women

I hope I will find some time for drawing and studies again but unfortunately I┤ve got lots of work on my desks

    Update 02.03.06

    @ Sorknes
You should know I┤m always working - unfortunately this doesn┤t necessarily mean drawin

    Hi everybody,

I just want to show I┤m still living and drawing - most of the stuff are doodles that I won┤t post. For this one I took a bit longer. Hope there will be more stuff to follow - I┤m thinking about doing a bit referenced work to erase some failures of mine.

    Updatish 06.04.06

    Hi everybody,

haven┤t been around for some time - I was lying in hospital and needed some time to recover. In fact I┤m still not completely o.k. but on my way Due to my trouble I haven┤t got and still have some difficulties to concentrate. Anyway here are some pages I┤ve done in hospital, a study of some StarWars clothing and a little pendrawing.

Hope I┤m getting the hang of drawing again - normally I should do some more fiddling with reenactment stuff in the next weeks because there are some events ahead.

I really like the Medieval soldiers and archers.. I had a report to do in school about Medieval warfare, and if I spotted these sooner, I think I would have printed up at least 4 to present to my English class..

That Man vs. Woman concept could have been so much better. I think the position of their fight (Is he raping her?) Haha.. well, the position took away from the image. If she was down on the car, and he was raising the weapon, ready to bring it down, it would have been epic. The robot factory image is my favorite here.. the robot's leaning head is perfect for the mood. The yellowish hue of the factory is somewhat overpowering. Enjoyed looking at your sketchbook. Keep me updated with PM's and I'll be back with more commentary.

    Keep doing you

out of the stuff you posted i like that last picture best-the proportions are spot on,contrast is good, poses convince.
pencils are too scratchy i think, but that woman in dress shows promise-it's well rendered.

I'll build it in double face tafetta and it would look incredibly cool

    Update 15.05.07

    Uh, I┤m alive ...

After nearly one year break from drawing due to rut, depressions or whatever you may call it here┤s my first stuff for getting into the line again. Mostly illustrations for a mid 14th century website, there are still some to go and a small sketch I made during an IRC session. Not in my old standards but I┤m working on it ...

Hope you┤ll see some more of my stuff in the next time ...

Hehe, just looked into my sketchbook to see what ads Google garbles out of it and see you both posting here. Yeah, I´m sorry, I haven´t done much in the past few month - real life is a busy as usual and I try to train my successor ...

I fear my daughter will be better than me in three years if I keep the pace I´m drawing now ...

Here´s the picture Hyver was talking about.

Maybe I even will colour it ...

Hope I get into it again ...
