maxetormer, I did film theory at Uni in Scotland, so beyond high school I guess I'm self taught.

But I have so much to learn yet.

    And always will have.

    bye-bye bump

As John Merrick may have once said : "You have all been very kind. Now, I must lay down my head"

    I really am off now.

    Absolutely beautiful work.

The range of faces and expressions is great... do you use any photo reference for your people? Or is everything remembered or from your head?

I also love the costumes... both the 'medieval' stuff and the 'space' stuff. Really imaginitive and fresh-feeling...

    Just marvellous!!!!

    Love it.

I know I've said this before, but man you're a bad ass. Is it ok if I print off a bunch of pages of your work and use them for reference?

    uncle lubin

salaryman - I took one look at your stuff and it immediately reminded me of the battered copy of 'the Adventures of Uncle Lubin' that is squatting on my bookshelf. Then I saw the hat.
Brilliant stuff - top draw. I'm glad that someone else is aware of his stuff - he was an absolute genius, as, it appears, are you.
    Cheers,
    Jonathan

hehe, nice header for a new page...

Undertow, I guess so, if you think they'll be of use.

Standing, W. Heath Robinson was a genius, haven't read Uncle Lubin for about 20 years I'd say, but I have a copy of More Monarchs of Merry England, which inspired that hat...

MasonL, yeah, not a brilliant likeness, but the hair does it! Just a small study to get me in the mood for something at work...

Andy DV, using a blue line really helps to differentiate the sketch and the ink when I'm tracing

Bojee, thanks, that means a lot!

Well, not much to show for the last week I'm afraid. I was hoping I'd have time to sit and do some architecture stuff, but what with the weather (bad) and generally being other-wise occupied, I only had time for one.

From life, an all too rare exercise for me, so forgive the downhill angle on the right there. Blue line and inked in situ, scanned and shaded on the pc back home.
    bye-bye bump
Okay, I think I need to do some more complete character work, full figure shots with a little more finish, I feel the pages of random stuff have become tiring and lacking any substance.

I also feel I should be tackling more mature themes in my work, something a bit more relevant you know?

But I also want to draw some cowboys......

Hopefully I'll update towards the weekend.

    Thanks for your interest guys!
