this is the first time I noticed how super-efficient you are with the colors on the game concepts. each object gets a base color and a shadow color. no muss no fuss. The "finished" guy just seems to get a highlight and then a blend between the areas. I'm going to have to pay more attention to that in my own work.

good concepts, too. I like the modern samurai take on the armor designs.

^^^ Those drawings are really lively, man. I'm jealous of your grasp of the human form and clothing; both of which you manage to capture perfectly with really simple, sophisticated linework. I have to say, sometimes I hate scanners. They make it so people have to choose between preserving line quality and keeping files a reasonable size. I can tell that thing is eating your linework alive. Ah well, either way, the drawings look fucking sweet.

You are so badass. I like how some of those concepts look like neo-samurais. Instead of swords they got GUNS! very cool, and unique. Keep it up, I'm lookinf for more artwork from you! please!

    warheads

Brilliant updates mate - when you used to draw comics, did you by any chance draw a strip for Marvel UK called 'Warheads'? If my memory is right, your style and the drawings in that story have a lot in common.
Looking at Warheads was always very inspiring, as is looking at your stuff here on ca.
I really look forward to your next post.
    Cheers,

Damn, I just went through the last 6 pages...
    and it was mighty impressive!

btw, can you show us what your rough sketches look like. You've posted glimps of em, but it'd be nice to see the whole thing. If its not too much trouble of course.

Fellah: to have a 100th of your energy.... thanks man

    Matt Dixon: ta

GunTrouver: thanks, yeah, more is coming. I'm struggling to find any clear personal project at the mo ( lots of real life grown up projects to occupy my mind ), so I'm only drawing now and then right now.

redehlert: some things just leap off the page, demanding a voice....

Oregano: cheers, you know you can.

neoknocker: that shouldn't be too hard...

bwkeough: yeah, christ knows what I'm going to do when I need to use more colours...help!

StrangeAlchemist: Thanks, I owe it all to a massive pile of ref gathered over the years. Scanners, resolution, pc's, rgb, they are all here to try us. The game linework was scanned at 400 dpi which is this big:

    bye-bye bump

so I'm losing a lot for screen res....

BAKI, obid619, Carnifex, codakromek: cheers guys

    strych9ine: sorry

Bojee: good to see you! Thanks man!

Atmospheria, sciAnce7, ThinMint, Nutter, Snowsfall, Groover Mcnab: thanks for the feedback, it really helps to keep me going

I.was.ink: thanks, okay here you are, sorry for the rough quality, bluelines scan bad : CLICK

Standing: thanks, not me though, think that was before my time. Or maybe after. I drew appalling stuff for Tharg for a few years...

Your ability to draw the human figure in all those poses and the detail and accuracy you put in them ( especially hands and feet) reminds me of Marko's.
Excellent stuff man, keep us posted k?
