    Proteus's Sketches -Updated 14/9

Greetings all, I'm 17 and I've been admiring the work on these boards for a few months now and I thought it was time I posted.
(I'll probably update this sketchbook in the weekends)
    C&C welcome

    Great pencil sketches.

Your colouring and shading of the finished character is good.

    Update

I haven't posted in a long time but I'm going to try and post here more frequently. Here's a picture I did in opencanvas yesterday.

may be a bit of astyle preference, but try to go for less line work in your paintings, using more shapes and forms of color. just turn off the line layer in digital painting
I can summarize my life story in context of story telling. I am a character, you are the others. Someone else wrote the beginning. We both write the plot we take together and when alone I control the storyline. However, I am the master of my destiny and I shall write the end of every chapter my life concludes.

I started with a solid shape and then built up the form in the opencanvas paintings. (no line layer)

Keep the posts coming, man. You've got some really cool work, especially that last little probe guy you painted, awesome little dude.

You've got a whole lot of talent for 17, and a good eye for color, too.

On your last piece post on March 29th, it looks very much like Christian Bale in the movie Equilibrium, any inspiration? That's a really cool piece...

Keep it up, man. If you have to post everyday, that means you've gotta create everyday!

Nice work, especially the painting ones.

On the lines in the painting, I see it more in the later ones posted. Your earlier ones don't show many lines. Perhaps just a style difference in that work.

Incidentally, what version of opencavas are you using? I can never get a good look with that program...what settings are you using?

IanE: Thanks, I'm glad you like them. No inspiration on that one.

tttia: I use opencanvas 1.1, I've posted a .wpe so you can see how I do it.

Here are two more opencanvas ones.
