    God of War....Impressions???

    ****Possible Spoilers****

I've been playing this game quite a bit lately...

The fighting gets repetetive after a while and the camera angle gets in a way sometimes...but overall i rate this game an 8/10...

I've enjoyed brutalizing hordes of beasts...the hydra fight was tedious, but that end result was awesome as hell....

So far the puzzles haven't been to difficult...

The art direction of the game is fantastic...
i would of loved if it were kept a tad closer to actual mythology, but it's so well handled that it is forgiven...

The concept art in the bonus Making of portion is high quality...not much is shown but paintings that are shown would do us proud lol...

if you have the spare cash i would recommend this game...

yeah, I am digging this game as well. Some of the best scripted fighting in a game yet.

I love pretty much everything I have done so far in it. The fighting seems to change up against different enemies, which is great, good to see they didn't go the old "this enemy is harder which means he does more damage, has more hit points" route.

the only thing I really don't like about it is the art direction. Just doesn't seem greek mythology at all to me. Seems more like "Gwar the video game". but hey "God of WAR" "GWAR" the similarities are already evident

I personally would rather see a game like this take a more conservative design approach, with the main character looking something more like perseus from the Clash of the Titans movie, and the enemies take a more conventional and traditional approach, a la Tony Diterlizzi's cyclops from the 2nd edition DnD Monstrous Manual.

Overall though, great game. If I had to grade it i would give it a good 9. Definetly worth checking out if you love Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden and similar games.
