Trying out digital painting and stuck!

Hi all! I have started this image this morning and feeling pritty much stuck with it. I'm trying to paint it with Photoshop. Any crits on the painting / colours etc and the drawing are more than welcome, thanks!

just like everybody else, you are just going to have to stick it out and practice like the rest of us, no one is a pro
so just experient and keep at it
my comment on the pic is that she is too pale
if you are going for that look then make sure to incorprate that into the whole pic and add some more light tints of skin color

Get some of that nice warm orange red to carry over into the face. Adding more red tones to the nose and cheeks will give your character a more living feeling.

Pretty nice work for a first try, a nice range of colors going on, don't be afraid to lose a little of the pencil work with laying out color, just like if you were painting with real acrylics or oils.

Thanks BAKI and Skulldog for you comments. So here you go an little update. I do hope that I'm mouving in the right direction...
I'm still fiddling with a lot of blending and painting with the brush settings between 15 - 50%, which I beleive it's a bit time cunsuming! But as you said BAKI only practice and sticking to it will improve my technic.

    So there you go:

My brush opacity hardly ever goes above 30% except for hotspots. Yes, it is time consuming, but if you want it to look nice.......

i would suggest lightening up the background a bit to match the tones in the head better. i realize that its not finished and there might be a background, but it would just be a little tiny thing to make it look better now.
