    Tack's sketchbook !!Updated may 8th 06!!

I figure this will be an excellent prompt to get myself to draw everyday.
I'll start with some recent stuff and then update daily or weekly.

hope you guys enjoy looking at this stuff!

I like the David Bowie demon page the best. Is that blue ballpoint pen you used? Even though the angle of the nose isn't right, the rest of the resemblance is pretty good and I love how your lines complement the languorous pose. It's very competent and has a good flow.

I'd say the weakest piece is the one at the top, the kid with the big clothes. I don't know anything about working in digital media (I know, a huge gap in my art education) but it looks to me like you're a bit of a beginner in that area.

Overall I think your linework is great and your subjects have a nice variety to them so far. I'd like to see more.

thankyou! the bowie demon page is done with red and blue mechanical pencil, it wasnt supposed to be bowie but it ended up looking alot like him, I geuss I had bowie on the brain and thanks for pointing out that his nose was off, somehow I never noticed that, i'll have to go back and fix it.
The first one was done in painter7, i'm still feeling my way around the program but i have alot of fun doing loose sketches like that, i'll have to work out a way to make them looke more finished while still maintaining the loose quality I like. I'll work on that

Haha, it's hard to keep Bowie off the brain . He's awesome.

I agree with you that loose sketches are fun to do and can look really great. Would you consider your hyena drawing to have that same kind of looseness? I like that one; it makes me want to squint and get it into sharper focus, because from what you've shown me of it, I want to see more (if that makes sense). It looks well proportioned and even has some movement to it.

As for your ink (?) drawing, I adore the background shapes. The way the figure's hair echoes those shapes is great too. When I pay attention to the facial features and body of the figure I really like the lines with which they're drawn, but I only notice that last--the background shapes are so dominant that they grab all the attention. Once I've looked at it three or four times that no longer happens, though.

It's fun critiquing your work .

That horse looks like a threstral! I know where that dragon is from ! Were you using ref from the "Atlas of Animal Anatomy for Artists"? That book has some plates of horse anatomy done in the 18th century or something - those horses were most definitely dead! Cool - look forward to seeing more!

hey! great things in here! i really like ink one, and a guy with a pittbull....um well I like most of it. they seem familiar, though I'm sure I haven't seem them before...

But it seems you almost always make your characters look left side...why?

    wanna see more!!!

hmh, my chars look to the left side too, maybe your practis this pose too often an now its hardlier to draw them looking at the rightside.

But your horsesketches are very awesome! Harry and Rone rule too, nice style!

thanks apollo the punker makes me laugh everytime i see him in my sketchbook, such a flailing mass of limbs.
I think I draw things looking to the left because thats the way I read images..left to right, so my brain subconciously puts the most important part (the face) in the first line of view..if that makes sense? I will have to watch this and make sure I change things up! thanks for catching that guys.
