Man, this thread makes me want to start keeping a sketchbook proper again. Then again, it makes want to paint better, render better, etc. You know what i mean.

jedininjaman : thanks, the new avatar is a photo of me

MonkeYoakum : Blastovic is just something i created... hahahaha, i think it's time for you to go do some art and less hanging out on CA

Jason Snair : thanks, the font is called Century Gothic..

    McLean : hehe, thanks

grenappels : thank you, it's not a lot of experimentation within a painting but each painting them selves are usually some experiment. That picture was pretty much like that straight on.

Toxdel : thank you, well i just like Blastovic so i thought "why not do some more?"

Here's a pencil doodle i did last night.

Nice tenticle-trunk dreads. As far as hanging out less on CA and doing art, truely CA has been the single most motivating thing for me. If it wasn't for your comment almost a year ago, about thinking in terms of 3d shapes I would be rendering spheres wrong to this day I'm convinced. So thank you for that and endless amounts of inspiration. Cheers! ...But I have been on CA for 20 minutes so I probably could have learned somthing then... damn

Man, your pencil skills are growing up piece by piece. Great!
You give us a nice surprise whit that unusual style on Blastovic piece. Cool! IMHO the shoot line are a little too horizontal; maybe turning a few degree the gun to the watcher can works better, perhaps also whit a little white (or orange) spot inside the gun hole.
    Just my two cents.
Anyway, great sense of white space, also in a design point of view. And great sense of shadows.

    Great!

MonkeYoakum: "ich" or "ic" at the end of an east european name is something like "son" in english. So, "Johnson" is like "son of John", Blastovic is like "Son of Blastov".

You are one of my favorite artists and a constant source of Inspiration. How do you remain so motivated/inspired and maintain such a productive work ethic? Women, Religion, excercise, drugs? Is there something in the water...What keeps you going so strong man?! I know you don't have much time for replies but if you could let us in on your secret I would appreciate it. Thanks for all of your hard work and amzing art!

    D@niel : thank you

    kidult : thanks!

MonkeYoakum : hehehe, glad to have able to help, now go draw

ICH : thanks man! Yea i had the same thoughts, I thought that i should add the barrels edges that face the fire and make them orange. Thanks for taking the time to give feedback, cheers!

Amir the night wolf : thank you

VegasMike : hehe, what keeps me going is the fact that this is what I want to do. Being able to live on my art, how much more can you ask? I just make sure I keep on getting better and improve my chances of doing this until I die. Plus being able to provide for my family on the same money is even more of an motivator. Cheers!

    monsi : Thanks

I like the last enviro. Very interesting design.
I think there's something wrong with foreshortening of those further pillars. When doing freehand perspective sketch you could draw a ghost diagonal line through the rectangle in perspective to find the good distance. It's not super accurate but enough to look right.

    Cheers.

This last creature and rider seem to be really deadly.
I'd like to see it in motion, too.

    Keep it up,

Hey mate - nice stuff recently. Like Fedor guy a lot Looks like some character. A bit like Hellboy without his "red right hand"

About the pencils - I think it's good for the look of drawings - lets you show some more grey grades. But at the same time I think that hard, fast drawings were helping you with capturing design ideas better.

Very cool quickie! Theres something about the way the person is sitting on the back that doesn't look quite right to me. Maybe it's just the clothing that's screwing with my eyes. Anyway, good stuff. Subscribed.

Just got done reading your interview on cgpad.org and i have to say that your work ethics are what really impress me most and have successfully given me a kick in the ass towards the right direction. thanks much! now when I'm feeling uninspired i can just ask myself "what would hurricane do?". And right now it would probably be sketching... so thats what ill do!

The greatest reward for me is when people look at my stuff and feel inspired enough to help me learn by harsh critiques, they will never fall on deaf or defensive ears and will be applied post haste! thanks in advance!
