I've really enjoyed looking through your sketchbook Hurri. You can really see a visible progression from the beginning of the thread to the end.

Keep kickin' ass in school! You're gonna do great things when you get out

It puzzles me that I have to enter your SB 2-5times before I can leave a comment behind.... anyways.

As others have mentioned, the colours you have chosen are splendid. And even though the eye is very striking, my favourite part is the upper lip. Don't ask me why, it just really appeals to my likings. -with all the uneven bumps and lumps which create sevral highlights and shadows. Just love it.
I must say, I'm also wondering how much (or little ) time you spent creating this fantastic surreal design-character! Keep sharing even though we all know you are busy settling in in your new surroundings---- Take care.

hey thats pretty cool hurri, i like it.

i think it lost a little something from your last post, maybe make the eye on the shadowed side of his face darker and more subtle, looks a bit bright for having such a heavy shadow on his face

    ok here it goes
Love the update on it, really. The whole head-design is splendid. the carapace (is that what its called?) was totally unexpected, but perfect for the job.
But the right eye (his left) seems a little bigger and unnatural compared to the other. Koppa also suggested that you tone down the highlighting on that eye as well, though I think it would work out fine if you just fix the eye's shape/size.
I also miss the more powerful reddish colour on the nose, which the first wip had... But that is just my likings...
Another thing is the "horns" (from the jaws?)... the ones on the right side (again, his left) seem "fatter"/ bigger than the other ones, I don't know if it is intentional, if so never-mind. ---a different colour on these might be good also???

Sorry for all the critique, next time I'll tone it down.

    Chris

    Oh...
Björn, that's amazing! I can't stop watching that opalescent skin tone.
The only nitpick is the sharpen shadow on the nose. In my opinion is a little too sharp or a little too parallel to the face axis...
Your works everyday increase my lust for drawing ;-]

Hurri correct me if i'm wrong here, but to my understanding the left side of a persons face is not 100% proportioned to their right, do you agree? Still a bit exhadurated in that last one, the eye bothers but its still great!

    ~Cheers

Yea! love the scans as always!
    http://bjornhurri.com/sb/07/Juli/juli_02.jpg
Like, omfg the whole design is frikkin brilliant! The torso is so sweet and elegant-looking. The shoulderpad isn't really working for me but the pose takes care of that. Love the deep arch on her back... -the "pet" is also perfect to finish the whole sketch. Colour it! please
    http://bjornhurri.com/sb/07/Juli/juli_04.jpg
extremely interesting character! the rendering is all that I could expect from you! -I like the forehead also, it reminds me of the faun's forehead designs in the movie : The Labyrinth of the Faun - El Laberinto del Fauno....
    http://bjornhurri.com/sb/07/Juli/juli_07.jpg
interesting character.. very eye-catching. would be a great digital if you work more on the design!
    http://bjornhurri.com/sb/07/Juli/juli_08.jpg
Wow... the pencil-work is just :-o
    http://bjornhurri.com/sb/07/Juli/juli_10.jpg
    haha. "mmmm balls"
    http://bjornhurri.com/sb/07/Juli/juli_13.jpg
The creatures hands are the best of all. Your lines seem so confident. I bet you didn't use reference for them :-/
    http://bjornhurri.com/sb/07/Juli/juli_16.jpg
*drool* I'm praying you used reference for these! -so that you can share them with me to learn anatomy and different poses at the same time! (I searching for this kind of reference)
    http://bjornhurri.com/sb/07/Juli/juli_17.jpg
Looking at all your trolls really tells me that you ARE from Scandinavia

Thanks for the big update, I'm sure everyone agrees when I say that we really love them all!
I was also wondering. What pencils do you use. I've just bought a new sketchbook and pencils (B). But when I opened the sb the next day, many of the pages and drawings were dirty and smudged... unlike yours... How do you do it?

Just gotta love the norse mythology sometimes.
Älskar sånadär små sjuka inslag, "min glass smakar pung"
    Diggar anatomin på männen.
Grodans helt skräckslagna blick är inte att leka med, färglägg den lite så blir det nog ett ganska komiskt motiv
