Thread: 'The Party'

Sorry the file is so large. I tried scaling it down more but on my screen so much was lost. If it is still too large I'll cut it into pieces or something. Usually I don't have a problem with file size like this.
This image is also copyrighted to Aelfengard, a upcoming game so don't run off posting it places or someone might get in trouble. X_X Anyway, thanks for looking. =D Have fun everyone =D

I really like your characters. I'm especially fond of the Yeti looking guy (and how his colour and shape mimics the mountain in the background, whether intentional or not).
The fact that it didn't look good scaled down should tell you something. The picture has a real problem with value and colour. Take a look at the picture when it's put into greyscale.
The value range between the characters and everything else in the middle ground (besides the yeti) is minimal, leading to your party really getting lost. This wasn't helped any when you made the wolf guy almost the exact same colour as the dirt and the lizard guy almost the same colour as the grass. They're almost invisible at first glance. While the colour you added to the human's clothes made him pop out more, I think it's far too saturated and overpowers everything colour-wise.
I think getting some lighter and darker values and some better colour choices on your characters could really improve the piece. But designwise I really like them. I love the environment and all the little touches (I don't know how long it took me to notice the little lizards with spears hiding in the bushes).

Kevin snagged what was bothering me the most, the characters colors are a bit too overlaping in place, and the red warrior really stands out. Even just a light glaze of color over top of the party could help unify them more.
On the plus side, the characters designs are all really wonderful, I get a feeling that each is very different, and not all seem to be the tough warriors they think they are.
