    Environment Concepts

A game project I'm working on at the moment, happily the Art Director let me show these.

Basically, I'm given a base in-engine video capture .jpg of the scene they want conceptualized and I do a final paint-over to help them get an idea of the look and feel they're going for. On average these are taking 5-8 hours a piece in Photoshop.

    Hope you like em!

    (B) base video captured image

(B)Final paint over concept (lower stairs perspective is a little off... I know.. )

You can see more of them at:

    Thanks for looking...

Looks very Jade Empire! It will be good to see what you can do with those scenes. Might want to move this over the the 3d thread though,

    Thanks!

Not sure why I'd move it to the 3D section, this is all 2D painting in Photoshop. Consider the .jpg screen grab line-art and there yah go.

I think the first one needs a bit more contrast, it feels really flat.

I like the 2nd one a lot, it has a lot more depth to it. The texturework is really cool in the grass and stone. And the lighting kicks ass. I think the trees are way too saturated, maybe a more subdued green or brown would be more appropriate.

    Good work.

    Thanks SOB....

Yah, I probably should have added the light rays as well to the pond pick... would have given it a bit more depth. As far as the trees in the 2nd one go they're a cut and paste. These are look and feel images, not final concepts so they're relatively quick and dirty.

As for the texture work in both, give it up for Photoshop brushes, a few custome ones and the stock assortment and you're good to go.

Thanks for the feedback and for looking!
